What a difference a little word makes😉. Never having heard of the gentleman before, I believed your original assessment. Anyway, by tomorrow,I'll have forgotten him so no harm done.
From the limited exposure I've had to his humour I would compare him to a modern day Bernard Manning.
Going into London on the train today, I couldn't stop myself from visualising landmarks and residential tower blocks with lumps bombed out of them. Insignificant trauma compared to the reality that Ukrainians are suffering but disturbing nonetheless.
I thought the same walking down to the village last week, just couldn't visualize tanks coming round the corner at me in a suburban street. Horrible thought.
I listened to the Chris Rock/Will Smith incident on the radio, some word bleeped out!! (Radio 4 of course) At first Will Smith laughed, for those who don't know, CR said, GI Jane 2nd. THEN after a few moments WS lept up on stage, and smacked CR open hand, but hard. A huge amount of journalists, (and others) believe the whole thing was a publicity stunt. Oprah W, (I didn't hear her interview, Hubby did) made references to the black man being picked on. Er, they are both black! It has escalated according to today's ITV news, CR getting soliitors involved. My youngest daughter lost a huge amount of her hair, head and body, eye brows eyelashes completely went early 20s, she was very upset, and Drs weren't interested! I said if she lost her head hair completely, I would buy her a good quality wig. The Smith's have enough money, we al know actors wear fantastic wigs during performances, (I can usualy spot them as I used to own a lot) Ms.PS could afford a shedfull of them if she wanted to conceal her own head, has always seemed "bald and proud", no reason why not.
It is shocking isn't it? I do hope the free world comes up with a "Marshall" plan to rebuild it for them as and when this mess is over.
Ukraine will certainly need help with rebuilding and the majority of the cost should fall on Russia. In reality it will probably be the rest of Europe and beyond who step up.
I can't see how Russia will be made to pay given that the ones who agree with Putin of fall for his lies will be unrepentant and those who oppose or disagree with him will not be in a position to pay, probably all in jail.
However, part of the problem lies with western political naivety in not properly assessing, evaluating and predicting Putin and his view of Russia and the likely consequences of letting him get away with annexing Crimea and his behaviour in Chechnya and Syria. Another example of political expediency triumphing over wisely accepting reality and planning for probabilities.

Bah... posted an A4 sized envelope with tracking costing £12 to Ireland 9 days ago and its still not arrived at the destination. Track and trace online states "Departed international distribution centre United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" That was two days ago. Anyone else having problems with post to Ireland. Is this another Brexit benefit or unrelated?

I agree with all you say here Obelixx. When I first read that much of the gas for Europe was coming from Russia I thought it was an extremely bad idea, but I'm not a politician so obviously know nothing.
...then don't even begin to think about what comes from China. Electronics, chips, power stations - virtually everything you see in a shop - https://tradingeconomics.com/united-kingdom/imports/china ....makes you wonder what we'd do now if they sent gun boats up the Thames.
