The people who design these things really want their ar*ses felt, as we say here. It should be a totally simple process, like it is on any clock on a cooker, or anything else.

Oh I wish that was true.  I have a built in cooker, and built in microwave, both from the same manufacturer.  I have to get the instruction books out when the clocks move back/forward as it's such a faff.  On the cooker, you have to press one button 4 times, and then another to actually adjust the time.  On the microwave it's either 2 or 3 times and then scroll through options.  There is no option on either just to move the hour back or forward by 1, you have to 'wind' it forward 1 hour or 11 hours.  I suppose I should be grateful it's not a 24 hour display.

The only thing I've seen from the Oscars was Will Smith giving Chris Rock a well deserved smack for taking the p**s out of Smith's wife's haircut - she has alopecia.  What sickened me was the self righteousness on BBC Breakfast where the presenters were criticising Smith for defending his wife but no criticism of Rock for causing the problem.

I'm not defending Smith's actions but you're right @KT53 - it was a cheap shot. They didn't seem to have full coverage of what he said, or maybe I didn't see that.
Fault on both sides, without doubt.

I personally can't abide Will Smith, but I don't like what I've seen of Chris Rock either, although that isn't an awful lot. Not that my opinion has anything to do with the situation.  ;)

Apparently Chris Rock has something of a reputation, and it is for being a nice guy!  I'm not a great fan of Smith either.  In any interview I've seen I get the impression that he is his biggest fan.

I missed one very important word there.  It should read  'it is NOT for being a nice guy'.  Realised too late to edit it.

What a difference a little word makes😉. Never having heard of the gentleman before, I believed your original assessment. Anyway, by tomorrow,I'll have forgotten him so no harm done.

I saw him with his son being interviewed [Graham Norton?] What a pair. The son was even worse -  a total PITA, and I see he made a stupid comment re the 'incident' which doesn't help his father's case.
However, suggesting he shouldn't get his Oscar is a bit much, considering the folk who've kept theirs, when being well known for all sorts of dubious behaviour...

I agree though @AnniD - did not warrant being the main headline.  :/
