@KT53 A big problem round here is that we're close to several tourist/holiday hot spots.   We noticed during Covid that, once tourists were allowed again, they blatantly ignored rules about masks in the streets and keeping distances.  That has made us wary as Covid rates spiked every holiday period with the influx of people from towns and cities.

I dunno the worst effect for me was that chest infection last Christmas. I've never been that ill in my whole life and I'm still struggling to catch up on lost work time. It will be interesting to see how the NHS get on this winter.

I see that XS Willy dogs are being banned. It'll be a decade before the current crop die out though and I'm sure something else will come along by then to fill the machismo gap. It'll be another politician's job to explain a child's death by then though.

I see they are bringing forward our booster jabs here as well, I must see if I can find one.

We get ours at a pharmacy in La Roche-s-Y now @floralies.   I'm told they're bringing  back the wearing of masks in hospitals here.  Seems sensible to me.

I had my last one at the Pharmacy also @Obelixx, easier than at the Dr's surgery.

I asked about flu jabs in the pharmacy when I was in there on Friday picking up a prescription. Apparently no longer free for everyone over 50, just for over-65s and people with certain medical conditions. Somehow I hadn't seen that being reported in the press. I can pay for one but many can't, and it seems to me that the older working-age people who can't always avoid mixing are being neglected. Probably to save money again - if it was clinically appropriate for us to be vaccinated last year, what has changed other than further tightening of the purse strings?

I had my flu jab yesterday. I pay for it but it would cost me more in lost work if I'm very ill. My wife felt terrible after hers but today I feel better than I've been for a few weeks for some reason. I've blitzed a ton of chores around the house :)

Good for you @wild edges - long may it last! Our flu jabs are not until mid October, still waiting to hear about covid jabs.

My curmudgeon today is that our district has suddenly sprouted masses of bright green electric scooters and bikes -  at least 6-8 on every corner. They look so unsightly and are a hindrance to pedestrians - especially when they just get dumped wherever they run out of juice. It looks like the Lib Dems have arranged a new contract with a new provider ready for the uni students.
