    I'm glad Spain won.
The only thing England do worse than losing, is winning.
I heard a news report last week and they still managed to shoehorn in 1966.
It's only a game after all.

Less relevant than  1066 - especially if your name was Harold . 1666 mattered if you were a Londoner.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Perhaps if we won more often we’d be better at it … 🤔

At least we might take it in our stride a bit more and not have to live on such long-past glories. 🙄

    And Katarina Johnson-Thompson. She's a winner!!
Congratulations to the lady. Two championship titles.

There’s all sorts of things I have zero interest in … but lots of other people enjoy them … and the media etc are full of a lot of them… that’s fine by me
…  I have a very efficient ‘Ignore button’ so those activities don't bother me … it’s humanity ‘in her infinite variety’ that I find fascinating. 😊

I'm glad I was at work. ( not that I ever have TV on during the day anyway )
Classic FM didn't even mention it  until it was all over.

I'm happy the world cup was on at midday.  OH got all the ironing done while I pottered about elsewhere ignoring it all.

I do find the aftermath reporting excessive tho and the constant harking back to 66.   The should also be harking back to the day a load of buffers declared football to be not suitable for women.  As this article  illustrates it was, in fact, all about money -

There has actually been quite a bit about that on tv and radio recently @Busy-Lizzie. Those attitudes lingered a long time … even my mother was convinced that somehow it was actually immoral for women to play soccer (that was the argument put forward by men in power) … but not hockey … but she could never explain why.

It might have something to do with the fact that her grandfather was actually quite a bigwig in FA circles.
