Who remembers the fuel protests and blockades back in 2000? I've just been reading about them and was surprised to see petrol was at about 85p per litre then. I thought it would have been lower. On that basis we haven't done too badly over the years, not that it feels that way when you have to fill up.
All this territorial invasion stuff is making me loose sleep. It's so frustating that someone can just decide to steal someone else's established territory and rob them of their safety and comfort. It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't snore right in my ear while doing it
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Someone got into our car last night and emptied the contents of the glove compartment into the floor. They weren't interested in my umbrella, masks or sanitiser. I'm hoping they don't come back for the car😕
Wasn't there a fuel tanker driver strike or something many moons ago. I remember being given vouchers to use at the fuel stations because my job was considered essential.
Just wasted half an hour searching on Sainsbury's website for a particular packet sauce mix I needed. Just couldn't find it no matter how many permutations I tried. Really annoying.
Unsettling @B3. Some years ago our main car was stolen - parked outside but double locked and alarmed. No idea how they managed it. Unfortunately, the garage door doofer was in there so they got in the house and took the keys to our aging estate car and ransacked it but stole nothing. They did , however, take my 6 year old daughters school bag, a Miele vacuum cleaner, a battery charger, a boxed set of heads for my router and a box of whisky and ginger wine destined for a twinning fundraiser event.
Bizarre. Seems it was a raiding party with a truck as they took several other cars in the village that night. Our car turned up 4 years later in Brussels so I directed the copper to the insurance company.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Have you got a button start on the car @B3? That's the common method now for stealing them - they don't need a key. It's why you have to keep your keys in a metal box. Although, if that's the case, it's odd if they then didn't take the car itself.
I remember having my car broken into decades ago. The only thing they took were my wellies which were in the footwell of the passenger seat.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
