I have just had a personal message from a new member who is an Indian astrologer wanting me to use his services. He hasn't actually posted any messages on the site so it is hard to flag him as a spammer.
Report it to the Mods … ETA I’ve alerted them to your post.
You can also click on his name and then on the little ‘head and shoulders’ that will appear … then you have the option to Ignore that ought (I think) block PMs from him.

@raisingirl, yes you can but why on earth weren't you wearing gloves!
I was, but the nettles are 6 feet tall and I was (stupidly) wearing a short sleeved shirt. In my defence, I went out with the intention of doing something entirely different, but then a nettle had flopped over the path to the vegetable garden (where I was heading) so I pulled it out, and then another one flopped over behind it, and then there was a bramble in the way.....and an hour later, the garlic hadn't been weeded and my arms were smarting

Morning all. About time I had a curmudgeonly chat!!! You all know about said annoying neighbour. Well,2 things really. He has huge Conifers,no idea when they were ever pruned. Our gardens are north facing,I actually made a bog garden down the bottom. There were already bog irises in there,I dug out the soil, lined with plastic, put pipes down... just in case I needed to add water. Just past that we made a stumpery, pretty much all shade, these bloody trees leach out ALL the moisture. Even after really heavy rain,it's all bone dry. They over hang our garden by at least a MTR,can remove lower branches, but no where to lean ladder to do higher ones. SECOND: you remember the "copying". A lot of you have seen pictures of our garden. It's "rooms", arches, beds you walk round, different planting in different areas, woodland, shade, sun, hot, prairie, privacy, where conditions arent right for particular plants,it's raised beds correct soil.seating...sun,shade. Every now and then,a plant that we have "appears" in their garden! This year the Erygiums are incredible, nearly as tall as me, guess what has appeared!! Hubby made some very nice obelisks a few years ago, properly made, stained will last for years. We have roses, clematis, beans (no not together)on them. He has made one... about a foot square, and planted FOUR, sweetcorn in the centre. I would say he's been watching too much Blue Peter, you will know what I mean from that!!
If there are a number of huge conifers cutting out the light they may fall under the high hedges legislation, and you may be able to get something done about them.
