    @Dovefromabove it's not a car number, it's a maximum break. Simpoles!

    I don't think that the 20mph speed limit in most of London improves safety at all. You spend half your time looking at the speedometer rather than the road.

    Regarding the car alarm, it may be extremely loud from outside the house, but not necessarily from inside.  With double glazing, cavity wall insulation etc we don't even hear our next door neighbours house alarm from inside if we don't have a window open.

    We had a house alarm that would go off intermittently while we were at work so we didn't realise it was happening. When we found out, we apologised to our neighbour for the distubance. She said that it had disturbed her but she didn't like to mention it🙄

    I thought everyone had car battery protocol sorted out after the lockdowns. The battery chargers with a conditioning function are better than wasting fuel if he doesn't need to go anywhere. I worry about my wife's car as it hardly ever gets driven and the battery costs over £250.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    My curmudgeon stems from our weekend away. We visited my niece in Broadstairs (in between Margate & Ramsgate,  Kent coast for those not familiar) anyway we thought we would try to visit Canterbury Cathedral as 1.It's almost on the way and 2 Last time we couldn't get in.  We'll we couldn't get in this time either. My curmudge is not that it was half closed for graduation ceremonies,  or that there was an ongoing fire alarm,  it's the fact that they were wanting £16 each off of us,  "oh you could see half today and come back tomorrow or another time your ticket is valid up to a year" . All very well but we couldn't go in anyway because of the fire alarm. Plus we only had 2hrs on the car park  ticket.  We walked away  and had lunch before continuing our journey.
