Wow that was an impressive thunderstorm :o  It got so dark my oldest boy asked if it was time for bed. We had a heavy downpour yesterday but this was on another level. Absolutely wild. Sadly it's flattened everything in the garden so I'm waiting to see what bounces back now. It cleared through to bright sunshine and crystal clear sky and the bees and moths were already flying about so they obviously knew how to head for cover.

Isn’t it strange that we are directly below @wild edges and it’s been very hot and sunny all day here.

No snow drifts down your way then @Lyn ? :#  I suppose it's technically hail but there's patches like this all up through the woods this evening.

Wow!   Can’t believe the difference those miles made.

There is also a fairly substantial area of water between the two areas.  That can have a major effect on weather.

I think the storm clipped us - we had a very abrupt, heavy downpour, but no thunder here. My arms are stinging from spending an hour pulling out nettles that are smothering my crocosmia 'lucifer'. Can you still buy calamine lotion?
