Phlegmatic always sounds to me as if it ought to mean angry or at least slightly irritated in a mucussy sort of way.

I am fed up with seeing products proudly labelled as British  - only to find after close scrutiny of the small print on the label that it was, indeed, designed in Britain but that's it. The product is actually made in China or wherever, but not Britain.

China has been very cunning. They know that their own people prefer things made in the USA, so renamed one of its manufacturing cities. They named it Usa!! Then they could legitimately mark items as "MADE IN USA".

Things have come to a pretty pass when your doctors’ surgery texts all its customers to say that it is closed “due to sickness”.

    Doctor, heal thyself! 😕
or at least prescribe yourself with antibiotics, painkillers, sleeping tablets or anti-depressants.

You may not lose all the bloosom @pansyface.

Last year we had a walnut fall over in a storm and thought it was a gonner.   Come spring, and before a tree surgeon could get to it, it had produced leaves and flowers so we left it and even had some walnuts off it for the first time since we arrived here in 2016.

I bought some SBK root killer in the GC yesterday but was dismayed to see that it no longer had glyphosate in it. Has anybody tried the new stuff and does it actually work?
It wasn't cheap. I bought it for one specific purpose to kill big ivy roots in a very narrow gap as I think they might be undermining our terrace wall.
