Thinking ... was it his biological or his adoptive parents who named him? ...  :/

It’s probably the fault of Brexit, @KT53. The EU might have afforded some protection against malevolent Americanisms but, as you say, very has been ejected by super. We can no longer give presents, they have to be gifted, and before I could contact someone but these days I have to reach out to them. Once mere liking something was acceptable but now I have to be loving it, and as it seems possible to train to places I await the day when it becomes acceptable to car to them as well.

I actually wrote to the editor of the RHS Garden magazine a while back with a light hearted comment about their use of gifted and got a po-faced reply from some slip of a girl, or so I assume because her given name was something like Honeypetal, sternly lecturing me on the meaning of ‘to gift’. Writing to some people is like feeding strawberries to dogs.

I heard someone on the radio yesterday whose daughter was called Liberty...
These names always remind me of Karen's alter ego on Will & Grace - Anastasia Beaverhausen  :D

I haven't heard the 'train' one you mentioned @BenCotto. That wid gie ye the dry boak...
Why do 'celebs' always 'share' their children too? Give me strength.

I just popped to the shops to make the most of this rare dry spell. There was a lot to be grumpy about today but a couple in front of me at the pet shop were parked next to my car and were just getting back in their car when I got back to mine. I dropped my stuff off and walked over to the supermarket, which is all of about 100 metres if that, and just as I got there they pulled up and parked as close as they could and followed me in. All the smart meters in the world won't get us to Net Zero if people use the car to save themselves 40 metres of walking.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • @Fairygirl :D  :D  Liberty's surname wasn't Bodice by any chance was it ?  As for celebs "sharing" their children - I suppose it's marginally better than " gifting" us with them.
Likewise, I haven't yet heard @BenCotto 's "train" - are we still allowed to walk somewhere or do we now have to "smart step" ?

    I remember those well  :D

I blame that daft tart Paltrow - 'conscious uncoupling'. I'm minded of Jim Royle's reply to many stupid comments and ideas....
I don't care for Chris Martin, but the words 'lucky' and 'escape' spring to mind  ;)
