OH had to take the height measurements of all the chairs he is likely to sit in after his hip replacement to his pre-op assessment today. They have ordered 2 loo seats with arms each side to be delivered to our house. Op is (hopefully, been postponed 6 times) next Thursday, 23rd.
We were given a form, asking for similar information at the pre-op meeting with the physios.  As we were given no advance warning nobody had that info.  The physio just said to avoid low couches and we should be ok.  I've got the raised loo seat, but my missus is a bit of a titch and struggles to get onto it.  She says her feet don't reach the ground :D   Hopefully will be able to get rid of it in another week or so.
Fingers crossed that it does go ahead this time.

It's the green star to the right of the thread title that's the bookmark one @Mrs-B3-Southampton,-Hants   :)
If you hover next to it, it'll say 'bookmark'. Just click on that and it'll keep the thread marked in your settings  :)

Found it. You need to click on edit profile and there's a notification preferences section

@Busy-Lizzie I have a laptop. Clicking on the red star told me I had no bookmarks and no info on how to make one. I'm not computer literate so didn't think about Google. However the main problem is lack of emails like the ones that tell you about what's coming in the new magazine and offers etc.
That's not the star I meant, hard to explain and I don't know how to do a screen shot. I thought you meant you had trouble finding the forum unless you had an email from GW to click on.
To add the forum to your favourites (sometimes called bookmarks) in your browser so that you can get back to it easily, there's a little star in the bar that has the web address of the page you're on, eg in Microsoft Edge it looks like this - my star is blue because I already clicked it.

    It's similar in Firefox

To enable forum notifications, click on your name in the black bar, then click on the little pink head-and-shoulders thingy (circled in the screenshot below), click Edit Profile, then click the Notification Preferences green box and select which things you want email notifications for, like when someone mentions you (@Mrs-B3-Southampton,-Hants) or posts on your discussions.
    I hope that's helpful :-)

I don't know about the emails for the magazine offers etc (I'm not a subscriber) but I'm guessing there are similar profile settings that you can change when you're logged in to the subscriber area rather than the forum (you don't need to subscribe to the magazine to use the forum, so they have different logins and profiles).

The star I see on Firefox isn't coloured, but is in the same location as shown by JennyJ

The star on my screen @KT53 is the palest of green. I reckon it depends on the monitor colours.

  • Well I Googled GW and it had a box to sign up for newsletters so I did. I'll know if it worked in the next day or two. With the 'Premium' bit it said I was already registered.
I still can't get into 'Win' though.

  • Me again. Just tried something different. Right at the very top of the page on the right is a box so you can sign in so I did. The message that came up said something had gone wrong and please try later. Limbo again.

  • And again. This time it said incorrect password so I changed one letter to a capital and it went through. So now I've proved who I am and registered for newsletters we'll see what happens next.
