Mine has a nice line of moss/algae along the bottom of the windows, on the side that's next to the conifers @Uff. It just appears no matter how vigorously the car gets scrubbed
Time for a new addition to your car cleaning kit, an old (or new!) toothbrush - good for cleaning around the logo on your car too, unless you prefer not to be boastful!
I don't really care enough @Plantminded I keep toothbrushes for all sorts of uses, but I draw the line at using one on a car! Anyway, I'm trading it in. Too much crap on it that I don't need, and have to fanny around switching off, and now the radio isn't working properly. I can't justify the expense of it either, especially when I've hardly been anywhere in the last couple of years. It was meant to be a treat to myself, but frankly, I'd be better with a wee car like my daughter has. As long as I can get shopping/compost in the boot, and my walking stuff, that's all I need. I'll miss the heated seats on cold days though Of course - now it comes back to those phones, because it's becoming impossible to get cars with CD players, so I'll have to get one just to have music in the car when I'm in places without any signal for the radio.

Raisingirl, was that serious. We get a lot of seagulls here, the road salt is caustic. Hubby was a vehicle tech for all his working life,a couple of years ago,he did a service and said there was bags and bags of dog **** behind the drivers seat. I always cleaned the inside before packing it off to a garage. Normally these days if you have a motor vehicle insurance claim, they want to see pictures of the vehicle before the accident, and see it's well maintained, looked after.Hubby doesn't have a mobile phone. We got the cheapest Nokia when we moved here, there was no landline,no call boxes. I got a smartphone last year party because we wanted to volunteer for Vax,and I have severe arthritis and tenosynovitis,I couldn't press the buttons on the Nokia.
No CD players in cars? How tiresome! We never put the radio on in the car, just CDs, or an ancient iPod touch which we have downloaded our favourite music onto. We would have changed our car last year, but not doing any mileage during lockdown, we hung onto it. Now, annoyingly, we can’t get the model we want with a sunroof, because of the chip shortage? Evidently if we want a sunroof, we now have to buy the top of the range model with an unnecessarily large engine, and loads of ‘smart’ features I don’t want, and costing as much as a Porsche! Tempted to buy the basic model and a tin opener.
Mine has an even more stupid arrangement in the roof @Ergates. You roll the 'ceiling' back, and there's a big expanse of glass. Is it a sunroof? Is it billhooks. The salesman tried to make it a big deal, but I think he could see I was totally unimpressed.

Two potentially serious accidents today but I got away with it both times. My mum, a believer in the power of three, reckons I should hit something hard and slightly painful to break the spell. I'm not convinced but I'm wondering.
Burnt my hand in a saucepan lid. The spell is lifted - until the next time😐

Completely serious. We aren't afflicted with seagulls here, although I do try not to park under the elder tree when it has berries on it. Can't remember the last time I saw a gritter - I believe there is one in the county somewhere but for all I know, that's just a rumour. I would have to rely on the service record to show it has been well maintained. Washing it is hardly evidence of mechanical care, which I would assume is more to the point. Granted, if it was dirty enough to not be able to see out, that might be an insurance loss adjustor's gift, but it never gets that bad. It's really - I mean REALLY - muddy round here. The local farmers, I am convinced, muck spread along the lanes. But I never go fast enough for it to get anywhere near the windows or even the lights. When I used to regularly drive on A roads and motorways, I would wash it now and then, but that was another life, another car.
It looks scruffy. I don't care. It's safe and mechanically sound. That's all I need from it

That makes that very clear @Hostafan1. So shaming. Why can't we just accept refugees with kindness and compassion? And not just Ukranians (who will all want to get back to their homes/to rebuild as soon as they can anyway), but Syrians, Afghans, Iranians... Thank goodness you've had the third thing now @B3. I rarely clean my car as I don't think it deserves it, sitting there using up power from the battery on invisible things and forcing me to go for long drives more often than I would like. One of these days I'll get rid of it for something that will just take me from A-B without any fuss. Oh and with fold-in mirrors - that's the one thing I like about the car. As I have to park on the street outside my house (no, I am not sacrificing garden for a drive like others have done) it can be prey to local yobs who used to kick the wing mirrors of my old car, costing £80 to repair each time. They've just managed to put a bit of a dent in the side of this one.
