@zugenie -the selfishness and thoughtlessness is just incredible isn't it? The idiot across the back from me parks his van at the corner of my house when he could put it at the corner of his own. He has one of those signs on his fence there saying 24 hour access needed so that no one parks on that corner. It's a public road so he's entitled to park it where he does, but he has it so near the junction that it blocks the view of the road for anyone coming out. It's unbelievably dangerous. I know it's deliberate too, for reasons I won't bore you with. He's a total clown. It's also so near my boundary that no one in a wheelchair or with a pram could get past.

The aerial isn't one of the 'bits of metal' spikes [technical term!] that sticks up @Obelixx. It's an internal one, and apparently is very finicky to fix, according to the bloke. I don't know how it can be broken either, but there you go.  :/

@Fairygirl, parking near a junction, in a position which obstructs view, is an offence.  If it is happening all the time, I would be inclined to contact the police on the non-emergency number and explain the situation.  They may give this individual 'advice'.

I contacted the council about it @KT53 but it wasn't terribly helpful. They've made a note though, and it's going to be added to the list of places to get double yellow lines. When I was out walking just after that, I noticed a little area near the local shops which has double yellows - a similar scenario.
What stops me contacting the police however, is the fact that he'll know it's me.

@fairygirl.  Wouldn’t it be a shame if someone struggled to walk by with a pram and made a deep scratch down the side of his car? 😉

    Naughty @Lyn, but tempting.

Internal aerials don't sound too clever to me @Fairygirl.  too much like headlight designs that mean you have to pay a mechanic to get in and change a bulb.   My grump was more about why it took 10 months to fork out 8€ for a new aerial.  Have just checked and the newer car also has a wee external aerial so that's OK but then he doesn't have a CD player........

Don't you sometimes wish you were driving an old car on its final trip to the breaker's yard? Oops so sorry😒

If you hit on quote by accident, is there a quick way of deleting it? It's a real pain backspacing all the way through.

Done that a few times, click on save draft then go in drafts and delete it.

Just reading back and clicked on the link about the Home Office's shambolic handling of Ukrainian refugees.  Hostile environment indeed and if that's what the govt. wants, they have the perfect Home Secretary for it.  Watched Jay Blades talking about his roots in Hackney last night as he discovered the history of his neighbourhood.  Fascinated to learn that when Hackney - which had all been farmland - was beginning to be developed it was populated by immigrants from Eastern Europe and then the Windrush generation. When did we stop being so welcoming?

First tick bite of the year >:) The biggest one I have ever found and it has left a nasty hole. Probably picked it up while cutting back long grass trying to reduce the chance of getting ticks. Last year was bad - I extracted 67 ticks over the summer.
