Same here @Liriodendron.  Even the water in the hen house was frozen this morning.  A first for us.

We hit the balmy heights of 6C earlier today.  Evidence of ice turning to slush on the pavements but that may freeze again overnight.  Forecast for tomorrow is steadily rising temperatures, up to about 11C by 10pm (yes pm, not am)

    Oliver Dowden.

Another thing - the word tolerance - isn't it an odd word (it is to me - so it's probably me just being odd)? Doesn't it imply its opposite - don't you have to be (or harbour thoughts of intolerance) intolerant initially to become tolerant? Isn't some who tolerates anything 'ist' actually 'ist'?

My gripe today is, am I the only one who can empty the hoover when it's full in this household! There's only the two of us.

Ditto. Although he made a half-arsed attempt once. Just chucked the filter back in without connecting it and closed it up😡

OH chose a Dyson last time we bought a vaccuum cleaner.  I loathe it - stupid design, stupid height of handle, b*gger to empty and gets blocked easily - so he not only does all the emptying, he does all the vaccuum cleaning downstairs.

We have a robot that gets sent round to do cat and dog hair collection in between and I have a proper Philips pull along for upstairs.

Maybe I could turn him into a robot
  • We hated our Dyson ... it reduced me to tears once and it was so unmanagable it pulled the bedroom blinds down on my head ... we gave it away and bought a proper Panasonic push 'hoover' with proper suction and tools that work (and that fit on the body of the machine without a load of faff).  We love it.  It works and cost us £74.99 just a few years ago.
