But i thought you weren’t sure it was them emailing and phoning you … perhaps it wasn’t?

Or am I even more confused than I thought I was? 😵‍💫

    Shane Warne. Jeez. 52.
I never really liked him, but that's irrelevant.
Just shows you - doesn't matter who you are, or how fit, you don't know what's round the corner.  :/
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

One thing I would do if ever I had a phone call that I was suspicious of, would be to phone someone I knew immediately afterwards, before making any further calls. If I phone my sister, and DWP answer the phone, I’d know that it’s a scammer, and they hadn’t hung up after their call, but kept the line open at their end.

I do that. My aunt got scammed a few years back - a call pretending to be her bank. She then called the bank back, and the line had been kept open - so she thought she was talking to her bank, but it was the scammers.
You don't have to do much - even phoning your own mobile or landline back and getting a valid call or engaged.

Spose we’d all better grow a few more tomato plants this year

I had a letter today from DWP asking for information regarding my claim.
I had a letter last month asking for the same information
I have a letter dated about 3 weeks ago to confirm that I cancelled that claim in January.

I wish that surprised me Hostafan1, unfortunately it doesn't.  I've been retired 6 years now, but even then there were months worth of untouched correspondence in filing cabinets.

When we live din Hampshire. I had a letter from DWP in Portsmouth. I called them, and they said " you need to speak to Aldershot, I'll transfer you"
    Spoke to Aldershot
" we don't deal with you, you need to speak to Portsmouth. Can you call back on Monday?"
" would you like me to call Portsmouth so they can tell me to speak to you, or call you so you can tell me to speak to Portmouth?"
    " yeah, I get your point "

I've just had an NHS letter via my GP practice telling me that my recent blood test  indicated I was at risk of Type 2 Diabetes and would I like to enrol on the Pre-Diabetes programme. My blood test was in April 2021!  I've just done a quick online Diabetes survey and have a 1 in 7 chance of getting diabetes in the next ten years. I think I'll take my chances.

I did the pre-diabetes tests and check and it was all very interesting … it was also reassuring to know that despite being somewhat chunkier than some and ticking some other boxes, I’m not pre-diabetic 👍
