How do you teach your children the importance of honesty when those in high office are telling obvious barefaced lies, breaking the law and getting away with it? That's before we even get around to Johnson's bad luck with contraception. Although I suppose that could act as a warning.
Would be lovely not to have a post for here! My youngest son (I'm carer for,) had been regularly visiting his dentist. As with so many, they closed summer 2020, messaged him cancelled his appointment, said to wait for them to contact him. Yesterday he rang,he's had toothache a week, emailed the practice as required for appointment. No one has got back to him. Of course, yesterday,it got far worse, they aren't open Sundays,of course,he wanted advice. Am going to attempt to get him an emergency appointment. Just hope that they haven't removed him from the patient list, that's what dentists used to do,it's happened several times to a friend. Another has to wait a staggering 2 years for a check up. Our dentist is brilliant. I got an emergency appointment during lockdown. They've just taken on my daughter and grandkids, unfortunately it's an 80 mile round trip from my son!

My mother often used to say "Don't do as I do, do as I say". Maybe that's somewhere deep in Boris's psyche.
The kids are starting a new nursery this week and we had an email last night to tell us that the food they bring must be alergen-free. This is fine as it's important to keep other kids safe, but it would have been nice to have a bit more notice than a couple of days before they start when we've already bought all their food We're not even sure what exactly needs to be avoided. My oldest boy's favourite snack contains peanuts (although I pick them out and eat them myself) so he'll be upset he can't have that.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Pansy, following on from your post, and an update on mine. Sons dental surgery did ring back. I started to warn the receptionist of his diagnosis, she just said "right that's 4.25 today" and disconnected!!!
Apparently it's a universal policy for places that look after younger kids. News to me though.
My other grump this week is with my wife's car again. She's commandeered my car as it's easier to use for kid stuff, and now I'm stuck driving her fancy Audi. It's got the all singing all dancing in car entertainment system with Bang and Olufsen speakers, a stereo that has inputs for every type of media you can think of (that was available 12 years ago) and a hard drive so you can upload media without needing to connect a device every time. Sadly it refuses to talk to any device that I own so if I want to listen to audiobooks I have to use my phone with one headphone. Even my bog standard car that only plays CDs through crappy speakers has a basic input jack that any device can use.
