My wife has just given me a weekend that I can go away on my solo holiday. It starts on Friday 13th I have preempted the eventual payback though. I've said she needs to take the kids away for a weekend too and I can finally get the dining room floor tiled.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
A lot of supermarkets are removing 'Best before' dates as they are pretty meaningless. Different situation with 'Use by' although some of those dates are also questionable.
We stopped using Sainsbury's because of their shambolic delivery system. Waitrose have turned up and handed us products for free because the use by date was close. Asda can be a bit rough with the food but their customer service is great.

Apart from some short life products, eg, soft fruit: if it's on that day, or the following day, it's free from Waitrose.
True. I usually ignore best before dates myself. But if there is a best before date then I think that the seller should abide by it even if the customer chooses not to.
