Eunice is a tease. Hardly a breath of wind here all day and no more rain than we’ve been having to stare at for the last three weeks.
she's no tease here. She's a total whore

I don't particularly enjoy being in a plane at the best of times so even contemplating being in the air today gives me The Fear!

Just watched a big plane going over into Bristol Airport, as that's near the coast, it's windy there at the best of times, hate to think what's like this morning. Glad I'm not in it.

She's just beginning to show her big girl pants here. Not pretty at all.

Receding here now,  had worse but we are very exposed.

Son took his parcels out for delivery he said there were so many trees down on the lanes in Cornwall he got fed up stopping and moving them to verge so he came back home,  slates off his roof but his poly tunnel he built is still standing.

the forecasts say the north is worst hit this evening. We seem to managing ok here in London. Def'ly more gusts than general high windspeeds -  high, hard gusts are possibly more damaging, like trees being punched.. Some fences have come down locally. The parks will be wrecked, hopefully dialing down here after about 4pm. I just hope all the scaffolding holds.

  • It's ramping up a bit here in Norfolk right now ..........

Still howling here. Thanks for the link, @Jenny_Aster , hours of fun watching that, but I’m sure I’ll regret it if we ever get to book a flight somewhere again. It’s making me feel queasy already!
Our power is fine, but many reports from nearby neighbourhoods that have lost theirs. Several local roads blocked by fallen trees. Very glad we don’t have to go out. Good call to stay home today, @Hostafan1

My sister (East Midlands) just phoned to say that one of her work's lorries has just blown over in front of her, driver had jumped out of his cab when he felt the lorry lifting but then couldn't stand upright and hung onto the wall! He's okay, just a bit shaken.

It's still gusting hard here so going to give it another hour or so, the bird feeders need refilling.
