Phone ringing this morning, disabled son, never a good sign! Apparently Friday storm caused electric cable damage to southern water pumping station
He was unaware, then Went to all the town supermarkets, all sold out of course. Looked online, there was bottles being given out,2 miles away,he has no transport and it was pouring. Couple of days later they thought problem was fixed. Nope, then tankers of water,he walked to the nearest one,to be told it had emptied in 15 minutes. They now "think" it's fixed!!!

no internet from 12.30 Friday until 22.55 last night.
Had power, heating and a phone line, so not as bad as many.

Builder is supposed to be coming to give us a quote for our roof, but we are in the middle of a snow storm, so I guess he won't come.
How can you lie there and think of England

  • As some of you know,  I volunteer at Capel Manor college and gardens in Enfield N London. They have suffered quite a lot of damage,  mostly to fences round many individual gardens.  Interesting that the worst damage happened on Monday.
