Oh heck Hostafan, did you thump him?  :o
I've never thumped anyone in my life.
Left them speechless but my cutting sarcasm  many a time.

    Outstanding, @Hostafan1!
I’m like that too, but I don’t think of them until an hour or so later.

that's how the phrase came out. A friend's Dad had an unpleasant experience in a shop and his son said. " you should have said XY&Z"
" I never think of things in time"
His son put his hand on his father's shoulder and said " You need to spend more time with A, he's a master of withering one liners"

    Hi all,

Had a busy day, usual walk while OH went off to see the hip consultant, then I collected a friend and drove her to a large GC some 30 odd miles away for an early lunch.  She bought seeds/rose food etc but I only managed a packet of MF. They didn't have any very large blue pots so we called in at another smaller GC nearby and lo and behold, two big blue glazed pots at a reduced price - success and I got a further discount at the checkout when we discovered a minor historic crack in one pot. I think it will be okay once siliconed. They were the only two pots in that size and colour so no choice really.
Much, much bigger pots in a paler blue were £129 each so a bit beyond my price range for me to get two.

OH is now on the list for a hip op, the consultant was surprised it was so bad. Either a 9 month wait for NHS or 6-8 weeks if he goes private. Decisions to be made.

The wooden bridge across the stream has now been installed so I can check that out in the morning. It will be a relief not to have to walk along the main hill, the traffic has got much worse since the Council bought in Bath's Clean Air Zone - all they've done is shift the problem to the outskirts.

So sorry you've had a prang @Hostafan1 but glad you're okay.

How about a timer in your pocket @Ergates?

Timer might work, @Lizzie27 but it’s that last weed or bramble that catches my eye as I head back to the house. OH says he might have to come and drag me in when needed.

I'm guilty as well @Ergates, it's always one more prune or a couple more weeds and before you know it, another half hour has gone by and you're running late for something or other!

  • I have never been home late from the Allotments, 🤥 well not if you add at least an hour to the time I say I will be back.

  • Just stayed up late (for me) to watch This is Going to Hurt with the delicious Ben Wishaw. Loved it. Will have to stay up late again next week! Even OH sat and enjoyed it despite the ‘coal face’ views of childbirth … even lambing on Countryfile usually has him heading for another room 😂

So obviously written by a doctor, the humour was just spot on, took me right back.
