There wasn't as much sun as forecast here and I've had hailstones bouncing off my bonce as well @punkdoc
As the tree feller fella hasn't turned up yet, I've started on the tree myself Garden waste bin is now pretty full despite the recent one-off winter collection but it will make the job quicker and less messy when he does turn up.
Potted on my free blueberry plants and raked some of the moss out of the front lawn before retreating back into the warm.
I knew you would enjoy it Punkdoc. We had the "gallows humour" same as the Fire Brigade. Of course there were heartbreaking moments and lovely moments. Before I retired 6 years ago, the junior doctors worked a 48 hour shift. I had pre eclampsia with my first baby,an emergency CS, with an 8lb left lateral breach baby, with my tiny 7.7stone body.Full blown post natal psychosis, hallucinations, the lot. My GP put me into "purple hearts" antidepressants. There was no counciling in 1970. Next one, went into labour at 32 weeks, and so on. It was the one ward I refused to work on.
I found the children's ward the most distressing. I still think about the little fella who had his jeans catch fire at a fireworks night. 😢. He would have been about 8 or 9 I think. I had to help take the trolley up to surgery and stay in theatre while they tried to clean him up. Yuck! I was much happier in the adult wards after that.
We’ve woken to a sunny morning, but there are dark clouds hovering to the west. I’d better get out and see if the washing can come in.
Now we’ve to drive to town to post our votes for the NSW State elections. 50 km round trip for a rubbish reason. Such a joke. I wouldn’t know who any of them are anyway. They never come here. Just stay around the Queanbeyan /Canberra area.
Well done on voting @Pat E …..I always make sure I cast my vote (lots of others lost their lives in the quest to allow me that right, even if I am a woman, of no ancestral privilege) …. just wish I had more choice on who to vote for round here ☹️
Late posting for me ….waiting up for Chicklet to come home ….
Had an interview to be a Citizen’s Advice advisor (volunteer) this afternoon. An hours grilling… but I passed - hooray. Training starts in March 😀😀😀
Thanks Chicky. To be honest if it wasn’t compulsory I wouldn’t bother. 🙄. I do agree with your sentiment though. If nothing else we bumped into quite a lot of locals we hadn’t seen for a while, so-that was one good thing about compulsory voting. Brought people out.
Strange weather again. Neither dry nor wet. Just cloudy and not hot nor cold. Unusual for us.
Hubby had a laugh at my expense today. I told him that I’d seen an interesting show coming onto TV about dementia which I thought would be worth watching. He asked when it was going to be on and guess what, I couldn’t remember. 😂😂. He really enjoyed that.
I discovered some garlic that I’d planted ages ago, so dug it up. Rather impressive. Might put another one in that bed. That bed is otherwise full of Jerusalem Artichokes, which we rarely use. (Being fully aware of their other name which refers to one of the after-effects of eating them.). 🙄

I think compulsory voting should be adopted here
How are you going with the car repairs?
we heard the gritter lorry in the night and woke to find a sparkling white frost outside, but it’s disappearing quickly.
