Todays good news, Moira's mums house has sold, which is brilliant as the care home fees are exorbitant.
Further good news, I have been gifted 2 paintings, which were Moira's dads and I have always loved. The family have decided I should have them. For those interested in Scottish art, they are by Butterworth and are both scenes of the river Dee.

  • Good news indeed @punkdoc ... and how lovely to inherit paintings that you actually like!!!  Not a painter I know, but having done a bit of Googling, I consider you to be a very lucky chap indeed  B)

  • Mission accomplished and old Tommy is very happy he got his seeds, and seed spuds.
I used up all my birthday vouchers on a new electric fan heater for the greenhouse,  I don't use it much but it's really handy to have one, success all round.

    Afternoon all,
That's good news on the house sale front and the painting gifts @Punkdoc and very good news about Hubby @Hostafan1.
Have a fantastic holiday @D0rdogne_Damsel, but don't overtax yourself, make use of all those delicious spa treatments instead.
I've just booked a haircut as well @didyw, realized I hadn't had one since December!

Did my usual walk this morning and then gardened at midday. Cut down the dead 'Lucifer' leaves and then started weeding the main border. Found a beautiful little crocus poking up through the drive so have ringed it in chalk to stop the postman from treading on it. I also dug up some alliums and have put them near the road for people to take away. Just as I came in for a late lunch, it started raining so perfect timing!

Must be a relief about Moira's Mum's house.
I looked up Butterworth, there are several, but I think Howard Butterworth must be the artist - lovely paintings of Scotland.

P called round this afternoon to say goodbye. He will have moved to Caen by the time I get back from Norfolk. Caesar the donkey is happy in his donkey sanctuary.

I did some gardening this afternoon, pruned the Campsis and did some light hoeing of flower beds.

Yes @Busy-Lizzie, Howard is the father, the other 2 are his son and daughter. I have visited their gallery when I am up in Ballater.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
it’s very wet out there 🌧
OHs last day a/l … it’s been great having him here for a full week … but today I shall head out to the farm shop to pick up meat, veg, fruit etc for the week … from the sound of the weather forecast warming and sustaining stews and casseroles will be welcome.

There was also a report of a few snow flakes on Mt Kosciusko. 😳 in Feb?   Amazing.  I did however get the washing out and back in. It’s now spread over a drying rack in the living room.  At least if it does rain tomorrow, it’s in where it will finish drying.
