I've thought that too Jenny_Aster. Sometimes when I get things right in the garden I might pass on a tip to a friend and if it works for them then I know that I got it right and it wasn't just luck. Same if a questioner with a problem has a good result from advice. I'd like to know then knowledge is stored for future reference.
I should say that I pass on a lot of your answers on to local gardeners and ask their questions here (as I'm sure other regulars do). My garden group members and school appreciate all your generosity and huge pool of knowledge. Your kindness has a wide, international reach.
I've been plugging it to them from the start but they are Hestiants. Many are still in the place of thinking that gardening is to do with inherited "green thumbs" or some kind of magic - not something to look up or study. But they are building confidence over time.
Well … this is just the place to show them that gardening is a journey with many starting points and many destinations, and the more we share along the way the more we learn and the more enjoyment we get out of it 😊
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Just catching up with this lovely thread... I usually post to ask questions, as am quite a recent convert to gardening. Always get good and friendly advice. On the odd occasion I may add comments based on my experience, but often feel unqualified to give too much advice. No one seems to mind that I ask more than I answer!
PS I think my favourite thread has to be the Garden Gallery. Always inspirational and uplifting!
