We don't really acknowledge birthdays so Valentine's Day has got no chance :D

Got a chap coming this afternoon to look at some tree stumps that I want removing before I can get started on planting the (currently barren) back border.

No sign of the tree feller fella yet though :(

Good afternoon everyone. I decided - once the rain stopped - to put Lily's TV on and got the cloth things out on the whirly thing just as it started to spit and spot with rain again. I left everything out! Might have to bite the bullet and bring it in as its gone a lovely shade of grey out there.
Chive, I am not feeling too bad thanks. Need to be right for Foodbank on Thursday.
Gosh Biglad, you brought back a lovely memory there. I used to love those chocolatey lovelies when I was little. Are you certain this lumberjack is actually going to arrive at all?
Hazel, good to see you. How about this for serendipity. I got my bag of SM potaoes out and found this:
I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing! It tasted delicious with my salad.

I'm not sure he exists either, @Ladybird4 :D

Tree stump man turned up when he said, gave me a price and set a date for when he can do the work. He seems far too efficient to be working in this neighbourhood ;) He also said he could remove the neighbour's tree. I'll be suggesting that (if Mr Lumberjack doesn't arrive in the near future).

Afternoon all. Been to pick up my plants today so that involved visiting 3 nurseries - all within 30 minutes of each other. Didn't linger at any of them because there were limited stocks of plants to look at and most just resembled pots of compost with a few twiggy bits in. Definitely a good time to visit if you're on a budget!

Beth Chatto's was very busy which surprised me on a cold (was dry - now wet) Monday in February. Probably a few half-termers and I think there are probably some snow drop walks in the garden. Hardier souls than me - or maybe not - the coffee shop was rammed! Lovely helpful and knowledgeable staff. I was asked by at least 4 people if I was being looked after.

OH & I don't do Valentines Day either. We acknowledge our wedding anniversary in August with a 'Happy Anniversary' over our morning cuppa - but that's about it. He's an ex-miner from Yorkshire. I'd expect nothing more....

Good to hear coughs and colds are getting better. Looking at the weather forecast I suspect several of us will be going back into hibernation mode this week😟

    Goo evening to all.

    T'bird, I completely understand your husband 😁.

LB, nice that your "weird" shaped potato was delicious. I often find hart shaped potatoes on my field.

Hazel, I hope that you managed to rest after all those unmentionables.

I'm relaxing with my cup of tea. Last night I barely slept two hours. I hope that tonight will be better. Must make a list, because I'm planning a raid on GC next Saturday. Also must visit hardware and furniture store

Biglad, he definitely seems to be a good tradesperson. Nothing wrong with a recommendation to your neighbour - once he has ground out the tree stumps.
T'Bird, did you get all of the plants that you needed?
Sorry to hear that you didn't sleep well last night Ante. I think that you can offocially join the Night Owls group! I do hope that tomight is better. Think you need some hot chocolate. Are you looking for things for the cottage Ante? Sounds interesting.
Latest on the case saga, handy brother went to the Estate Agents but the case has not yet been delivered. Having seen today's weather I do not blame anyone for not wanting to drag a case to an Estate Agents. They are going to ring handy brother when it arrives.

  • LB enjoy the quizzes.  I hope your sniffles are getting better.  Ante I hope you rest tonight.  Top bird always fun to get new plants.  A very wet day today.   Chive a brief sm shop, a visit and back home, not the weather to be out.  I hope you kept dry.  Hazel I hope you managed to get things done, feet up tonight.  Lily I hope you kept warm and dry.  Goodnight everyone.
  • Good to see you @Songbird-1
@Ladybird4 glad you feel a bit better, enjoy the quizzes. Hope the mystery case arrives at the estate agents soon.
@Ante30 hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Night night everyone, sleep well. See you in the morning.

LB, I need to buy few pieces of furniture for my home, nothing large. I hope that your mystery case soon will arrive.

It's my bedtime. I'm quite tired, despite relaxing and boring day.
    Good night and sweet dreams.
