My curmudge is woken up this morning to find the Macular degeneration in my left eye has got much worse and I'm writing this which is appearing rather wobbely.

Call to Opthalmoggy department as they advise to call should there be any sudden deterioration will hopefully bring an early appointment. Been putting off that injection to the eye for as long as possible, due to having the risks of having it explained to me, but it looks like I'll have to go with it now.

Damn this getting old lark. Can I have my 20 year old body back please..... :'(

"Sorry to hear @Kili of the deterioration. Hope they can do something."

Thanks @Jenn@Jenny_Aster that's very kind of you to say so. :)

tee hee. That's cheered up my morning.

there are those who just seem to seek out offensive stuff so they can be offended.

We used to go to Gay Pride. There was often a " Women only space " but never a  " men only space" . There was often a " people of colour space " but never a " white only space"
I was never offended by my exclusion from these spaces, merely puzzled by those who demanded them.

Those 'only' groups or spaces get me too.  They are just as 'ist' as the treatment they are complaining about.  Can you imagine the outcry if somebody tried to have a group restricted to white heterosexuals?

Aren't we all " people of colour "?  it's just that some of are a different colour to others.

Someone on the Guardian website is having a bad Monday I think.
But the spokesman also said that by 2028 the government wanted to ensure that by 2028 75% of people with cancer get diagnosed when it is at stage one or stage two (ie, relatively early one).

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Oh that's rotten @Kili ... but I understand the injection is pretty effective ... certainly better than the surgery a friend had ... fingers very crossed for you 🤞

Again very true Hostafan1.  I also wonder how the 'other' parent of a multi-racial child feels when they are effectively air brushed out by the child 'identifying' as just one part of their parentage.
