We have that problem with our tv from time to time, same size, a few years old, sometimes no sound other times no picture, we just unplug it and plug in again and it works!

I did that in the end, and it worked.  Definitely a result as it's a good telly.  I had powered the TV off at the switch but it actually had to be unplugged to sort things.

I don't wish to be unfriendly to new posters, so can I just say quietly here in the Corner, "a very polite palm tree?"  :#

    😵 Have I missed something?

What sickens me, possibly more than Boris refusing to apologise, is some MPs actually supporting his refusal apologise and claiming he has clarified what he meant.  You can not clarify a lie.

So glad that worked @KT53, our telly goes through a Humax box, don't know whether that is the cause but unplugging always works.

Thanks for all the suggestions to fix the telly.  Reviews of most 32" TVs are pretty bad and it's obvious the manufacturers aren't interested in that end of the market any more.  As somebody has said, there is virtually nothing now between 32" and 42".  We wouldn't be able to physically get a 42" in the space the current TV is in.  Add to that even some of the 32" now have feet at the outer extremities of the frame, rather than a conventional stand and even some 32" aren't suitable as they wouldn't fit the unit the TV is on.

That leapt off the page for me as well. I once bought some basil from Asda and, on the wrapper, it said it complimented tomatoes. Well that was a lie because they were side by side on my kitchen counter all day long and not a kind word passed between them. I wrote to Asda telling them this and they sent me a £5 voucher and a red-faced apology.

I was going to post on that thread about the plume theft issue but I think the poster is stressed enough. I'm amazed how much plant theft goes on though. I've seen reports on here and other plant resources about cuttings being taken without permission, plants dug up, pot plants stolen etc and the bloody cheek of it always gets to me. Most of the time the victims say that if the person had just asked they would have given them material anyway. Why hack about a plant you've obviously admired?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
