@KT53, have you looked at ao.com? ( other shops are available) They seem to have several good brands of 32 inch TVs, I've found their website useful for user reviews as well. We’ve bought quite a few things from them, and had very good service, although they don’t offer the long guarantees that you can get from John Lewis. We got our tv from John Lewis with a 5 year guarantee.
Can I recommend Richer sounds, I had an issue with a recent purchase and their customer service was super. Dealt with very well and even a follow up call from shop to ensure everything was OK now.
Switched the telly on this morning - no sound! Did all the checks to make sure no setting had been changed accidentally but still nothing. We've had it several years so thought the easiest option would be simply to replace it. Trying to find 32" TV is extremely difficult. Review sites sneer at them as only being suitable for small bedrooms - really!? We don't have space for anything larger, nor do we actually want anything larger.
I have just had that same problem with the sound on ours, unplugged everything in turn, seems it was the freeview type box that caused the problem. Unplug leave for 5 minutes then try again.
