The tulips in raised beds and pots have been fine. Some of the ones coming up in the ground are all flaccid and floppy. Not broken or sat on, just not turgid. Any idea why that might be? The blooms themselves seem to be fine. Thanks
Lovely colourful tulip displays everyone, they are really delightful
I didn't know you had a vision problem @Fire, I think I understand what you mean about seeing the red colours more easily. Lovely wallflowers too, I know everyone says they are easy but I really struggle with them. The wild yellow one is successful to a fault but I only have one surviving brown one of the nice type from multiple bulk purchases. It's lying down but also flowering so we have come to an uneasy truce
Thanks @Victoria Sponge - I put mine in as bare root last autumn. I planted double the amount in that bed, but... hey ho. They do smell amazing and the scent does waft.
Went on a 2-week holiday and came back to this — tulips ‘Slawa’, ‘Caviar’ and ‘Queen of Night’
Tulips ‘Havran’, ‘Couleur Cardinal’ and ‘Princess Irene’ in the large light grey pot, and the same on the table alongside ‘Caviar’ and ‘Queen of Night’
Some alpine clems from me: alpina and daffodil Sound Starting their second year (to cover up the scabby wall of my outbuilding) alpinas Constance (pink) and Tage Lundell
At this time of year I really appreciate my borrowed trees. I am surrounded by apple trees in blossom. The cherries have mostly gone over, but this one, taller than my house, is just peaking. Way, way too big for the small garden, but stunning against the blue sky.
