A vibrant red of the anemones. The tulips were from Thompson and Morgan about 8 years ago. They were advertised as perennial tulips in red, orange and yellow. Over the years they have multiplied but most have reverted to red. I would think they are the Dutch hybrids, but they have certainly been multiplying. Valerie
Thank you @Yviestevie. The pulmonaria needs some shade or the leaves can scorch. The one in the photo is under prunus Kojo-no-Mai. After flowering and cutting back it sends up fresh new leaves which to me gives the plant the look of a hosta in shape. Worth finding the right place for.
Some of the flowers in the orchard aren't natives, eg. anemone blanda, and the muscari, but the majority are, like the Lent lilies, primroses, cowslips, wood anemones, then oxeye daisies, orchids etc. in the summer.
This is supposedly Tulipa Creme Up Upstar (cream with touch of pink, to go with T. Angelique), but has either come up neon yellow, or I have mislablled - which is possible. I didn't knowingly buy or plant any yellow tulips. Hmmm.
They ping pong off the wallflower Cloth of Gold, which is fine.

Good to see the first Salvia Royal Bumble start to flower this week, erigeron about to pop, Jupiter's Beard alba is covered in buds and two Digiplex Illumination 'Apricot' (perennial) in pots have buds. Two other Apricots, disappointingly, looked like they have karked it, but I will wait another month or so to wait and see if any shoots appear. Dahlias outside (coverd and fleeced in pots) have their first shoots - right on time.
