Not living in the North, even with my advancing years, I still find snow exciting. Thinking of exciting things. Do you remember how the coach for a school trip always smelt of bananas?
I know how you feel @Papi Jo the same thing has happened here and I'm a lot further south than you. Having had warm weather in March, April has arrived bringing record cold temperatures in Aquitaine for this time of year. -4° yesterday morning, -5° this morning. Big frosts. A lot of damage in the garden. All the fruit tree blossom has gone brown, I hope the hardy fuchsias survive, the broad beans were in flower, now they are blackened and going mushy, Narcissus went floppy and some haven't revived (they are now in a vase), paeony is floppy etc.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Such a shame about the fruit trees @Busy-Lizzie. These unseasonally warm spells so early are a blessing until followed by such harsh frosts. I hope the peony recovers, and the fuchsias are okay.
It’s still really cold and wet where we are, but spring blooms can make it so can I back here after a battle with depression -_- really excited seeing everyone’s gardens again
We got a new development in our garden! little platform with a bench on a slope. To have tea early in the morning and watch some owls and squirrels:) Elderflower is now planted around it , but not much to show for it yet haha… can you spot it?
What a beautiful camellia, @Lena_vs_Deer, and a great spot for having tea and taking everything in. I grow the western sword fern here, it's interesting to see it in your photos in its natural home. I hope the weather warms up soon for you, nothing beats getting outdoors once the garden wakes up.

My garden in South Cumbria is a bit of a frost pocket but has escaped snow and hard frost up to now.
Pulmonaria 'David Ward' has been in flower for two or three weeks now.
