On April 3rd I posted some pics of frost damage in my garden. Now that a more reasonable weather has come back I have been able to assess more in depth the damage.
I'm afraid I won't be seeing any flowers on my Wisteria this year, the promising flower buds are dead. It might also be the case for my Cornus hongkongensis, which had also lost all of its flower buds last year.
However, I was quite cheered up by the sight of my Evereste crab-tree today: most of the frost-scorched flowers have now fallen off the tree, and new buds have opened, so that the frost effects have practically disappeared, as you can see on attached pic.
Your long border looks great, @Lyn. There's a lot to show there for the work you must have put in. Nice magnolia too. Mine succumbed to last night's frost sadly, but gave a good display for two or three weeks so mustn't grumble. Hope you stay frost free now.
Great to see the crab apple restored @Papi Jo. It looks beautiful.
A few more from me I have the opposite issue to @fire above and thought these City of Haarlem hyacinths to be a bright, cheerful yellow, they are creamy yellow at best Have done fairly well through the weather though, fairly upright. Narcissus Ferris Wheel If anyone is after a tough mid flowering white these have done really well through the frosts and hail, Snow Disc. They have a muddled face (split cup) not a classic trumpet. Berberis, mixed hyacinth and a new rose for me this year, Princess Alexandra of Kent.
Lovely photos, @Victoria Sponge. I’ve had a few unexpected surprises from the bulbs I’ve planted in autumn as well. That Ferris Wheel narcissus look completely different to mine which are really yellow.
I like the colour of the hyacinths though, I might plant some of those in a pot. Do you keep yours for next year?
Edited: Sorry, my mistake, I was looking at the wrong photo. I need another cup of tea!
I think you are right though @pitter-patter, my Ferris Wheel have an orange frill:
I keep the hyacinths although I am planning to put the multicoloured ones in the ground. I might do the same with the City of Haarlem but am waiting to see how some raggedy alliums perform to see which bulb gets the border space

Love your long border, @Lyn and the nice landscape at the back!

Talking of yellow tulips, T. sylvestris with turkestanica. I do like turkestanica's sprays of multiple flowers.
Sorry about your frost damage @Papi Jo but glad your crab apple has recovered.
Lovely photo of the grass jewels @Woodgreen and I like that funky pulmonaria from a few pages back. I haven't seen one like that before.
With the hail last week I brought many of my daffs inside, just the ones that had snapped or bent. Fading now but made a lovely display.
