Apologies, because I am sure I have posted this before but it is the story behind the flowers rather than the tulips themselves which merits inclusion.
Through multiple incidences of cancer and other life threatening conditions our private insurance company has been incredibly supportive to my wife. About six years ago we wrote to thank them and they asked if Mrs Cotto would be happy to appear in a PR video for them. In the course of filming, my wife made a throwaway remark that, just after receiving her first cancer diagnosis and, sitting composing herself in the hospital garden, she wondered if she would be around next year to see tulips again.
They picked up this comment and, as a thank you, sent her a big bag of tulip bulbs. That was Autumn 2016 and the tulips are still flourishing.
A few potted tulips. Daffodils still going strong.
Thanks for all those lovely colours, @Eustace . However, please refrain from posting so many pics in the same post, as they may take a long time to load, especially for forum members with a slow connection.

A heartwarming story.
Floppy little b*ggers. They should stand tall now.
The front garden a year ago when we moved in:
That's a lovely story @BenCotto thank you for sharing it. I hope your wife is well now.
