Thanks @Obelixx.  I've filled the freezer with pasta sauces etc, and hope to have a lot of time for playing with the boys.  Hate being stuck in the kitchen when they want a story...

The new DA rose 'Elizabeth' was delivered - presie from my daughter. It's rather fabulous and beautifully packed.

I harvested my first serving of runner beans this evening. Deep joy.

Runner beans in mid July.  I'm lucky if I have anything by mid August.  They normally hit maximum output in September, just as we go on holiday.

I'm picking climbing French beans, I find they do much better in hot weather.  Runners are not up the sticks yet.

Yah... after 4 months of waiting my Irish passport has been despatched. My father was an Irishman, but never registered me in Ireland. Irish law says that if you were born to an Irish parent before 2005 you are automatically an Irish citizen and thus can apply for a passport.

I've re-joined the EU and can now travel or live there unhindered and so can my children if they wish to apply. :D:D:D.
