@Fairygirl my wife struggles with the heavier machines and has been delighted with the Vax Blade 4.  It is incredibly light, but the downside is that it need emptying every time it's used.  That only takes a matter of seconds but you have to be careful not to let the dust fly everywhere.
I should make it clear she isn't the only person to use it.  I actually enjoy using it.

Vax Blade has a flexible hose joining the stick to the head. This is not reinforced so it gets holes in it. To have used a reinforced hose would have cost the company very little. I bought a reinforced  replacement hose not from vax for a few pounds. It was a PITA to fit it. I would never buy a Vax again , partly for that reason but mainly because it takes two people to detach the canister to empty it. I ended up buying  a separate hand held cleaner because it was too difficult to use the attachments on the vax.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I loved my old Vax [if you can really love any vacuum  ;)] but after years of using  conventional, clumsy, upright hoovers, I bought a Gtech rechargeable. I wouldn't go back to any other plug in type now. It's brilliant. I expect it's a similar idea to the one you have @KT53 :)

@B3, I don't know which model you have but on my Blade 4 it's a solid connection between the stick and the head, and the canister can be removed with one hand.

    Vax Blade 32v
Tried to pull a newer model apart in Currys last year. Still far too tight. One person grips the machine between their knees and holds on tight with hands. The other pulls and wiggles the pipe end. Not in Currys!

RTBC  Spring bulbs have broken the surface. Definitely early crocus and some not identified yet😊

Not doubting you as you have looked at that model.  All I can say is that I can disassemble the parts of the Blade 4 with one hand.
  • Some of our pots of bulbs have been showing for several weeks.  Far too early for my liking, at least that cold snap checked them back a bit.

I had a quick walk round the garden this morning and found some native primroses in bloom whereas most of my snowdrops are only just showing through the soil.  Odd.
