  • Tree and decorations down here too. Our bin day is tomorrow so needed to get the tree out tonight.  Dec's are back in the loft for another year. We didn't bother last year as everything was cancelled,  almost not worth it this time either,  if I hadn't posted the  pictures on Wonky's thread, only 2 other people would have seen them appart from us. Ah well.

Even if no-one else saw them, you did.  We were the same - only the family who came on Boxing Day saw ours but it didn't stop us enjoying looking at them.

That's a nuisance @Dovefromabove, you'd not long got to MIL's  hadn't you? On the other hand, OH's company seem to be quite understanding and flexible over hours so I suppose it works both ways.

Sorry @Lizzie27 I edited that post. They’re fine about it … the colleague hadn’t realised we were away. 😊 once I’d explained that we were at his mum’s they said of course we must stay.

Thanks for asking @Lizzie27, MIL seems to be settling into the home reasonably well, just need to convince her to stay now.
Also need to sort out visiting rotas. Both Moira's brothers live in Scotland, but for Moira and her sister it is an 8 hour drive to visit.

Does the care home have a ‘relatives room’ ? @punkdoc

Good point @Dovefromabove, need to check that out. At the moment we would be fine, because we could stay in MIL's house, but hopefully that will be going on the market.

@Punkdoc, has MIL had a Continuing Health Care assessment? Eligible persons are entitled to full free health care, something the NHS tends to keep very quiet.
