  • Thanks all for the good wishes,  the cake looks great @Uff. Just back from a garden centre,  I used some of my birthday vouchers to get seed potatoes,  Onions,  shallots etc. Oh I lead such an exciting life 😄

    Afternoon all,
Amazingly we woke up to brilliant sunshine after my plaintive plea yesterday and it warmed up to 6.4c by 10 am - positively balmy. Even took my fur snood and gloves off during my usual walk this morning. OH managed to walk to meet me down as far as the bridge but that's about his limit. Later, I pruned four roses and a big Polish Spirit clematis - a bit early but did it while I had the stepladder out to get up on the raised wall bed to do the roses.
Sympathies for those who need it. It's no fun being in constant pain.
    Love those cakes DD.
    Happy Birthday @Allotment Boy
Are you planning anything special on Friday @Dovefromabove?
Not sure I'd like your skinks running around here @Pat E but good photos.
Enjoy your day out @chicky and hopefully the cricket too.

  • Happy birthday @Allotment Boy - sounds like my kind of birthday.
Overhaul from head to toe today. Hairdresser this morning and chiropodist this afternoon.
I even managed to go down the garden, but unlike the active ones, I did no work!

We’ve had a lovely day at Cromer … a walk along the front … really good  cod and chips on a bench on the cliff top with the sun on our backs while we watched a raft of gulls on the high tide … then a drive along the coast and home for a cuppa … feet are up …

Ohhhh I've been driving myself mad all day fancying fish and chips Dove. Just managed to put them out of my mind and it's back again now. I'm pleased you enjoyed yours though.

I think that's really kind of you Dove I appreciate that especially as I'm on a carb free diet, well as much as I can manage it at any rate.

I hope you've been having a good birthday @Allotment Boy. The GC visit has a thumbs up from me, sort of thing I'd like to do on my birthday.

    Sounds a great day @Dovefromabove.

I had a delicious lunch with my friend, chicken and leek casserole with  creamy sauce, then we had a good natter.

We have a cold day forecast tomorrow, think I'll get on with curtains now that rails are up.
