Hello all, cold and sunny with a penetrating ground frost. I have been sorting out my seeds, not too many to order! Hoover needed a good unclogging and cleaning, why is it that OH thinks it does itself after use? Many of the older folks in our area have ever traveled beyond the boundaries of our department, and as for pronunciation of place names here well that's an eye opener in itself!
I'm trying to avoid Amazon as much as I can. I think the row they were having was that Visa were charging too high a percentage on transactions. Little sympathy for either. Sun shining! Think I'll weed the veg. patch...
32 in the greenhouse. Phew, might take myself off there and open the doors - and I can't see if the vent is open unless I'm in there. Going to the tip this afternoon - I pass a very good little garden centre and the car usually takes a little diversion into the car park (not of my own choosing, you understand!!)
SloeG on GW we've discovered that some plant sellers use a particularly powerful type of sticky labels ......... they do seem to affect the steering of some cars ........
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Given that the nearest decent shopping centre is about an hour away by car, I use Amazon a lot. "Back in the day " M&S refused to accept any credit cards because they thought they were so big , they shouldn't have to pay ANY commission to credit card companies Not much changes.
Afternoon folks, Another cold, frosty start to the day which I didn't expect as it was a lot warmer yesterday. Sunny again now and weather station says it's nearly 10c but outside I don't believe it. New window duly installed and admired, footstool has been banished! I'm pleased with the result, expensive but worth it. The fitter also re-siliconed around four other windows that the magpies have attacked - and refused payment, which was very decent of him.
Thanks for the heads-up on the shower @Ergates. We only have a combi-boiler with no cold water tank so think electric is the way to go.
Hope you get your drainage sorted BL and glad you feel better DD.
I use Amazon quite a lot especially since Covid but thought they would give in at the end due to the bad publicity so held off getting another credit card. I'll wait and see what happens.
@Lizzie27, glad to hear that we are not the only people that had magpies pecking the ?putty round the windows! Couldn’t believe the racket they made, and very surprised to see the damage they had done. Woke to a sunny but very chilly morning. We got up early and got to Sidmouth before the midmorning crowds arrived. Had a lovely walk on the prom, listening to the shrieks of the swimmers braving the waves - rather them than me! Dropped a load of cardboard boxes and an old blind at the tip on the way home, very satisfying. Laundry this afternoon.
Good afternoon everyone, what a chatty lot we are, just caught up. We spent a chunk of yesterday in Daughter's garden dicussing climbing plants & roses in particular. They had a huge boundary hedge removed over a year ago, and now her hubby is moaning they have lost privacy ! . Today we spent the morning in our own garden, in the sun on the patio you would think it was April. You soon know the difference down the bottom in the shade. Seems like January is a busy month for birthdays, mine is close to Dove too on Australia day. Hope all trials and tribulations are resolved soon.
