Afternoon All, very chilly out Iโ€™m warming myself up with a mug of tea,
Dove Engine trouble not sounding good for your son, hope you have a nice few days with OH at home,ย
Hazel Sounds promising that youโ€™ll be having your haircut soon, I agree with you and the mask wearing though Iโ€™m not keen to leave it off entirely just yet particularly in the SM,ย
Hope your afternoon goes well everyone.ย

    Afternoon all.

Hazel, I was well hidden. ๐Ÿ˜‚ There are only two chairs and table on my balcony. We can look at the plants in the garden below. I hope that you will have appointment at hairdresser without any more delay.

It's still raining here. I made a pot of tea (herbal this time) and relax can start. Yesterday came new seeds and plants catalog, but it's a little disappointment. It's everything the same like last one. Nothing new, they just made copy paste.

Good afternoon everyone. Bestie and I had a very busy day at the foodbank - non-stop from 0 on 9:00 until 12:00. One of our clients did not turn up last week for his food and we were fully expecting him today but he was another no show. Now I am worrried about him and wondering if anyone checks up on people who don't make it. Another thing I learned today which for the life of me I cannot understand (bit like the weighing of everything donated) and this occurred over a jar of jam a lady brought in with other stuff today. Anything containing or made with alcohol cannot be given out to clients - just in case we may be giving this stuff to people with alcohol problems. The jar of jam, which possible came from a hamper at Christmas, was strawberry and champagne. Apparently a great deal of food such as mince pies and Christmas puddings that were made with alcohol were thrown out before the festive season. I am stunned by this. The amount of alcohol in anything cooked will purely be for a flavour only as the alcohol will have evaporated off in the cooking process. That I find incomprehensible. I think I will have to research other foodbanks to see if this is just something that the foodbank I volunteer at does. All those kind donors would be staggered I'm sure if they heard that. I cannot see the big (or small) SMs adopting that attitude.
    Sorry people - rant over!

Hi LB. I really hope that those client is well. One thing, which I can't stand is food wasting. May be they can donate those food to someone who can use it, but throw it away is not acceptable to me.ย

Chive, oh the bliss of not having your phone with you - or maybe not depending on the frequency and number of calls and messages you get.
Busy you will have been so delighted to see the old shower being removed today. Lets hope that none of the dust etc. gets down into the pipes leading to the septic tank.
Ante, I will think about you and Rose as I take Lily to the Vet tomorrow. I have just had a second text from them reminding me of her appointment - as if I would forget! I have choisya and spiraea in my garden. They are lovely shrubs.

Ante, I am on a mission now as I find the throwing away of food unforgivable too. I will not let this drop.

Hi Ante I did get warmed up after my tea thank you. I hope your journey to collect Rose tomorrow isnโ€™t troubled by the weather, Max will be delighted to see the snow return. I like the sound of your balcony with a view over the garden, must be a lovely place to sit and enjoy your surroundings on a fine day,
LB That was a full on morning for you both, I imagine itโ€™s very tiring work. I hope the no show is ok and that someone will check to see that they are. Not using the food donated with an alcohol content is astonishing there must be another option other than to throw it away, itโ€™s a red tape thing I guess,ย
Crumbs the time is running away today, have a nice evening everyone.ย
