I agree @wild edges. Fab day here after the relentless wind/rain of recent weeks. Lovely frosty, icy sunny day. A pleasure to be out walking today, especially as the wind had dropped considerably too   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Don’t know what’s happened to my parcel coming via Royal Mail. Got an email from them, yesterday, saying it would come today. However the tracking hasn’t been updated since Sunday morning at 2am when it was somewhere ‘up north’. Nothing urgent, but I don’t want to have to stay in for it. I’ll have to ask them to pop it in the shed if I’m out.

@ergates I just said that in a post above,  I don’t mind how long it take to get a parcel to me, I know times are hard,  my son is a delivery man so I know the problems,  I just wish they wouldn’t tell you it was coming on a certain day.

I was very tempted to take an extra day off and go out walking. Winter days like this are too rare to waste sat at a computer.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • We have just been shopping not for food either 😱
We have just bought a new Dvd / hard drive recorder and a new computer printer.  The reason it's a curmudge, couldn't get either of the old ones repaired,  and certainly for the printer cheaper anyway.  The EU are bringing in laws to make mfcrs make things more easily repaired.  AH but we've left now so we won't benefit. 😡

I hadn't realised just how cold it was this morning when we went out.  By the time we got home my fingers were agony.  I have poor circulation in my hands and the cold weather really get to them.

OH is trying to tell me 12th night is Thursday but, despite being a non-believer (so's he but he likes all the lights and baubles) I'm sticking with the C of E and Jan 5th.

@KT53 surely then in winter it's a sensible precaution to have gloves handy, just in case.

Re delivery drivers:  I've probably told this tale before, but... a few years ago when we were living in Todmorden OH got a new phone, to be delivered by DPD.  As always, we told them not to use the satnav but to walk the last 50 yards (bendy single track unsurfaced private road, with nowhere to turn at the end) - or to ring us when they got near and we'd meet them at the end of the road.

Well, the watch was delivered ok, by a young man who'd driven all the way down in his long wheelbase van.  He tried to reverse it up the lane, got stuck, burnt out the clutch, and had to leave his van there (completely blocking the lane) for several hours before someone came out to rescue him.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Having a Curmudge. I decided to have a carb free tea, ribeye steak, a poached egg and tomatoes. The steak was b****y horrible, inedible, the non chewable type. I ate the tomatoes and egg but then I was still hungry so made a bacon sandwich.
I blame Dove for making me salivate over the bacon baps at lunchtime. Not for the steak of course.

Have you noticed how spit out disgusting  ' smoked''  bacon tastes lately. I think they dip it in toxic waste. I've binned it so I can't check whether it glows in the dark.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
