Thanks Fran IOM, didn't occur to me to take pictures of individual decorations,a lot are glass or metal, heavy, it's a 5 foot real tree,so there's a limit to what you can hang. I knitted various ornaments a few years ago, the border collie kept pinching the snowman! The big Father Christmas has flashing lights I didn't even know,my grandaughter years ago figured that out. Our bungalow is open plan, living room/kitchen/conservatory,so you are limited to where a tree can go and size.. The conservatory corner there is away from the radiators, and window there is always open, even a chunk.
Another one for you Bencotto,if I took the pictures upside down, would they come out the correct way up? Now that is soooh, weird, sometimes they do come out the correct way unfortunately,it's grey and gloomy,so you can't really see the Santas
I should possibly wait until it's dark, but here's our tree now. It looks more or less the same each year as we use the same decorations every year, though I usually buy one new one a year too.
They almost all have stories or associations. The paper lantern toward the top is probably the oldest, it was old when I was a child and is probably from the early 50s. The angel at the top, along with the long textile Santa on the right and snowman on the left were all bought at a lovely Christmas market in the incongruous heat of a small Florida town about 20 years ago. The knitted ones were all made about 30 years ago by a lady at church. The Santa sitting on the moon was given to our 18 year old for her first Christmas. And so on.

Thanks @chicky - I can't imagine getting rid of any, even the ones that originally didn't have much of a tale to tell have developed one over the years 🙂. This year's addition is the little wooden tree in front of that textile snowman - made by the local Men in Sheds group.

That's better! We can see the "decorations" now.
Ours is a jumble of baubles & colours
