    Thanks @Songbird-1... its actually a large hoole hoop wrapped in green tinsel and lights.... thought I'd get inventive 😎
    It's where I sit and watch the birds on the feeders when I get in from work if its too cold outside!

    @pitter-patter and @JessicaS: you’re setting standards of refinement that are hard to match.

    The branch in my sitting room was harvested from my silver birch tree about six years ago. On twelfth night it gets bunged in the shed where spiders use it as an assault course for the next eleven months. Brushing off the cobwebs results in a loss of a few twigs every year.

    There's a fig tree outside the patio doors. I think I might make the effort this year. No one will see it but us. Do I try for tastefully , minimalist appropriate or take pity on the  tired old  baubles rattling around in the bottom of  decorations box? They remind me of ageing burlesque performers  who maybe deserve one last outing before going to the retirement home.
