Hi all it's grim here too, started dry ish but didn't last. I have cooked beetroot, and descaled the coffee maker. Oh I lead such an exciting life. We are having trouble with the days of the week too, I think it's a general problem this time of year.
@Allotment Boy ... you've reminded me ... I meant to descale the kettle before Christmas, but didn't get a round tuit ...
The hedgehogs are about ... 'ours' seem not to go into a deep hibernation in this sort of weather, but arrive and tuck into their cat biscuits several nights a week ... last night they licked the plate clean!
OH has gone to work ... he says yesterday the shop was rammed! Of course the garden centre has a sale of Christmas stuff so everyone is buying next year's decorations We're really hoping to go to his mum's in the new year so he's trying even harder than usual to keep away from possible Covid carriers ... it's tough on retail staff.
Everyone's saying it's hard to get hold of LFT tests ... I got a couple of packs just before Christmas but OH is testing every other day at the moment so they won't last long ...
I've got a load in the machine and a chicken in the slow cooker with carrots and an onion. We'll have it with baby potatoes and sprouts this evening. Then I've got some mushrooms to use up so a chicken and mushroom pie will follow, and a 'Cock-a-leekie' will happen later ... we didn't have any poultry at Christmas so it'll make a bit of a change.
Part of my son's Christmas present was a hand-knitted (by me) infinity scarf , similar to the one I knitted for @WonkyWomble, but in a colour he can wear for work ... he tells me he is much envied ... apparently all the girls at work want one ... I could sell them, apparently! 💰

I make a scarf in a circle, so it has no ends to get caught and dangle and tangle ... before joining the ends I put one twist in it so it's like a Mobius strip https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Möbius_strip that way it can be worn double around the neck or pulled up over the head like a snood, without having to twist it any more. I knitted them in a chunky yard using a Fisherman's Rib so it's really thick and cosy ... perfect when working outside in the winter.

The first is @WonkyWomble ‘s scarf in progress, and the second is the beginning of the one I made for my son. Now I’m making one for OH … they’re great for knitting while watching Christmas tv as there’s no counting to do. 😊

I'm using James Brett's Marble Chunky (acrylic which I don't usually knit with but it's washable and not itchy so good for scarves) ... it comes in 200 gm balls and I find it takes more than one but less than two, so there's enough to make a matching woolly hat from what's left.
I use 41 stitches per row and 8mm needles ... think I said I do a Fisherman's Rib ... if you don't know that one there's lots of info online and Utube videos.

It's grim out there.
I'm having a cuppa and heading under the duvet for a while.
