  • Morning all,

    hello @janetfoss :)

Grey and wet here, but warm.ย  Too wet to garden so at least I won't feel guily about not doing it, I'm too tired anyway. It's exhausting just looking at what needs doing. I need a bright cold day and my head not full of other things to get it sorted out for spring.ย

Annoyingly the remote control for the TV has suddenly stopped working, so I can't even watch my regular news bulletin this morning, I do like 20 minutes of the BBc to start my day. :(

The ironing lady has also quit, so not a desperately good start to my day off. One thing can be sure I am not touching the ironing! I might just go back to bed with my coffee and try and start again later. ;)

  • Oh โ€˜eck @D0rdogne_Damsel โ€ฆ thatโ€™s annoying โ€ฆ you have tried the battery? (In the zapper, not the ironing lady? ๐Ÿ˜‰)

๐Ÿ’ก @WonkyWomble does ironing โ€ฆ you could send it to her โ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ƒย

  • Yes, @Dovefromabove, swapped the batteries from another remote, but of course all the shiny new packets in the drawer are the wrong size!ย

This ironing lady has let me down more times than I can count, always something, so no great loss, although finding someone new is always problematic, if only @WonkyWomble was nearer.....

Do you have a steam press, Damsel? I bought one many years ago, Having tried one belonging toa friend who ran a B and B. Rarely do any ironing now, but when I did, it really cut back the time i spent.ย

    Morning all.

OH has just rung to say his Son-in-law has Covid so he is going home, back to Norfolk where he will isolate. No stops on route, car is full of fuel. They were to have gone out to lunch in a beamy old pub today but SIL felt ill in the night and has tested positive. He had his booster jab about a week ago. OH, his daughter and 2 children have all tested negative. OH had his booster a month ago.

My little Granddaughter isn't well either but it's a bad case of tonsillitis. She will have her tonsils out as soon as she is 3.

    Hi all

Dreich, dreich and more dreich. A day for books and old movies, plus cheese and cake. Luckily all those are possible.

Dreich here but hell's bells I feel like doing something madly exciting. The only thing I can conjure up is filling the bird feeders.ย

Morning all, enjoyed our Xmas, a fairly quiet one. Glad most of us did likewise, commiserations to those whose plans had to be altered or were alone not by choice.
We're now in not so sunny Bournemouth with my son and his family plus his sister. It has rained very hard overnight but has just eased up so we're going to have a quick look at the sea. We're all still testing negative thank goodness.
