Ooh,Chicky, that's lovely. Had a great day, really good laugh, played boardgames, with other grandparents. So nice for someone else to cook. Gorgeous veg medley roasted, plus roast spuds, peas, broccoli. I had 2 of their home grown squashes, filled with feta, and seeds.

Good evening and Happy Christmas Eve to you all.

Home from work, pizza and wine time! I was gifted three nice bottles of red today ๐Ÿ˜

We see so much sadness and heartbreak at the hospital this time of year, but a few lovely things have happened -ย

My colleague delivered a baby in the hospital foyer yesterday! She was just walking out after her shift! She isnโ€™t a midwife but did a wonderful job! All doing well.ย

Santa came to the hospital todayโ€ฆthe fire and rescue service brought their Simon Snorkle truck so he could wave to the children on the ward with the ultimate social distancing. Absolutely magical.ย

Warm seasonal thoughts to all. Keep safe and cherish the ones you love.ย

  • Firstly,ย  a Happy Christmas to all.ย

    Aaarrgh!
Lost count of which plan we are on now C,D,E or F. GD's weakย  LF test of 2 days ago is back to full blown pos today.ย  She is still isolated at home, all rest of family are neg, so we are decamping to there, we have taken the Turkey crown, stuffing etc to them already.ย  I will prep some veg here tonight,ย  my wife's is making a pear crumble. We will take everything else tomorrow and do it all there. They have a much bigger house than us so, it's easier to keep appart there.ย  We were only ever having half the usual number anyway.ย  We originally wanted to do it here as SD has SIL's family boxing day, so didn't want her doing all the work 2 days in a row.ย
    Ah well.ย

Do hope you finally get to enjoy tomorrow's get together after all @Allotment Boy.

ย My son and family were due to see his father on the 27th who has now just tested positive so that's been cancelled and we're going to see son in Bournemouth instead of them coming here. I think I've got that right, it's like a merry go round isn't it?
My brother and his wife have also had to cancel their Xmas Day visit to her son as they both have got cracked ribs (different accidents!). The paramedics and cardiac nurse were absolutely brilliant as was their local GP when contacted for pain relief. My brother has severe heart failure so a bit worrying, he's only 71.

No big food prep here. Made some bread, went into the village to get a duck for tomorrow plus some other bits and bobs in case my two nieces come to visit the day after Boxing Day (current plan, LFTs and Boris permitting). Did a fair bit of cleaning and tidying up, including sewing up some cushion covers I've been meaning to do for weeks. Picked the Christmas holly and some blue spruce from the garden. Watched a film. Very dark but rather funny - perfect. I now need to go and pick all the stray cushion feathers off my jumper.

Merry Christmas, Forkers. Hope it's a peaceful day for everyone.

Lunch finished and weโ€™ve all flopped. Hubby did Sauerbraten von Munchen . ย Heโ€™s been turning it in its bath for several days. ย
