In my recipe the egg is cut into wedges and arranged on top, not incorporated into the rice mixture, so no need for you not to have kedgeree @Obelixx … just keep the egg for your portion.
I know @Dovefromabove but he can't even be in the same room. Something to do with school coach trips, egg butties and travel sickness. However, we do both like Cullen Skink and twice baked smoked haddock soufflés.

It absolutely hammered down during the night with gale force winds but fortunately I don't think anything gardenwise has been damaged. Don't know if the noise woke me up at about 5 am but couldn't get back to sleep so got up and had a cup of tea and quiet read. After a light lunch of leftovers, my daughter and her cat left about two pm and hopefully she'll be safely home about 4 ish. I gave her some of the Xmas cake, mincepies and chocolates to take with her. Saves me having to eat them. I'm planning on baked salmon with new pots and green beans for dinner. I fancy something light and plain after all the rich food we've been having.
Oh dear that’s a shame @Obelixx … I was very travel sick on school coach trips. awful so he has my sympathy. In that case I’d make the Kedgeree and think of another topping … I often use some creamed coconut in a lightly spiced Kedgeree so perhaps shavings of fresh coconut would work well … and fresh coriander if liked.

I must try that @Dovefromabove, sounds delish. Neither OH or I like boiled eggs but we like smoked haddock.
Your dog is gorgeous @Uff, just the sort of dog I would like if I still had a dog. I always had Border Collies but they need a lot of exercise, I used to go horse riding with them and my horse (she lives with my daughter now) and I are too old now. My other mare died last year.
I had a lovely time at Daughter 2's. Son 1 and family liked their presents, so did I but what an idiot, I left my bag of presents behind. Never mind, I'm babysitting for Daughter on the 4th.

Meant to say welcome to @janetfoss. You live in a beautiful area, I have an old friend who lives near Rippon. You must be quite near Harlow Carr garden.

I should say that when I cook the rice for kedgeree I always have a few crushed cardamom pods in the water, and I always cook the rice in the morning and cool and dry it spread out on a baking tray until it’s time to add it to the kedgeree… that way it retains its texture and doesn’t go stodgy.

Just popped in to say night night. I was awake for pretty much the whole night last night so slept later than I would have liked to this morning. Not done much - but did make the hearty vegetable soup we should have had on Boxing Day morning. Didn't have it then as didn't have the traditional Boxing Day morning walk this year because of this awful weather we are having at the moment. Wet and grey - the worst! Lovely dog @Uff - hope he recovers quickly. Ribs take a while I believe @tui34. A local brewer broke a couple of his but he didn't want to cancel any of the markets he'd booked them in to so had to have helpers lifting the heavy crates. It's a good beer - so he didn't have as many to pack up at the end of the markets. Forgetting the pressies isn't a great sin @Busy-Lizzie - it's the being together that counts. Anyone heard from @Hostafan1? I hope all is well. Off to bed now with my new detective book.
