🤞 for your OH @Busy-Lizzie, and hope his SIL is feeling better very soon ... and your grand daughter all who feel poorly, for whatever reason.
I'll join you @punkdoc ... definitely dreich here too 🙄
There's plenty of cold meats, salads, cheeses and pickles here ... and I've made a vat of Broccoli & Stilton soup for OH's flasks this week, so now my feet are going up for the rest of the day ...
Just having a coffee with a couple of lovely biscotti ... then I'll get my knitting out ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
And there's some proper films on the telly today, Calamity Jane (@WonkyWomble's favourite ... she knows every word), West Side Story, and My Fair Lady ... to name just three ...

I’ve set Westside Story and La Boheme to record. First bit of pure silence here, daughter and her husband off out on their bike, the boys are playing something on their phones. OH is going walking. Lovely.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Lots of rain overnight and more expected soon so too wet to weed or set foot on the soil so no pruning either. All sorts of stuff budding up and needing sorting before it gets too excited - roses, clematis etc. Should be drier tomorrow and Thursday tho.
Sorry about OH @Busy-Lizzie and hope he'll be OK. I though removing tonsils was much less common now so I hope GD will be OK.
Enjoy the peace @Lyn. Broccoli soup on the go here too @Dovefromabove but no Stilton. Capon was very good!
Teach OH and Charlie to iron their own clothes @D0rdogne_Damsel. It is not just women's work!

Nice to meet you @janetfoss. Oh dear @D0rdogne_Damsel - hope you can find another, more reliable, ironing lady soon. I am v.proud of myself for getting all the ironing cleared by Christmas Eve - including the deep fitted sheet for which there must be a foolproof way of folding. Bad luck for your SIL @Busy-Lizzie. I'm with you @punkdoc - not doing nuffink today. Might get dressed though, in a bit. (my d.gown is soooo cosy). Watched some of the riders for the Boxing Day hunt (although today as they don't hunt on a Sunday) ride past on their way into the centre of town for the meet. Nice to hear the horses and see the neatly turned out riders - in green as they are harriers. But don't believe that they never actually kill anything. Many posts about it on FB - with commenting quickly turned off. Lovely Christmas Day at my daughter's and they with us yesterday. I like to play games, as does my younger g'daughter. I bought a new one - Death on the Cards where one player is the murderer who tries to get away with it. Fiendishly complicated. SIL & OH gave up after one game, DD didn't play at all. Then a game of jacks, which was my Christmas tree present as I'm always going on about how we used to be addicted to playing jacks as children. Younger g'daughter much better than me - faster eye-hand coordination. And we've booked tickets for the Grayson Perry exhibition at the Sainsbury Arts Centre for new year's eve. We all love his work (and him!).
Dreich here too. Hooray GD is negative today, so we are back for round 2 after yesterday's rest. SIL'S, Brother& one son are pos now but his daughter is neg. Suppose this is how it's going to be.
Reading back, I see that the Christmas period went reasonably well. Now for the New Year festivities - of which there will be none practically. Curfew from 8pm to 6pm on the 31st and clubs and discos closed. Harder measures to be brought in with testing plus Covid pass if you wish to go to a restaurant, etc. The jury will be out today and we expect to hear confirmation on the news. Hmmm.
Raining this morning here too @Obelixx - a sunny spell now but more bad weather approaching - cloudy, morose and generally dismal.
I rarely iron in winter @D0rdogne_Damsel. I have a conservatory in which I fold the wind dried washing and leave it on the table to "air". Otherwise, on the radiators for a spell.
I won't go into the episode of falling "off" my bike on Saturday. I had stopped and just toppled against a parked car - consequently, some very sore back ribs. No drs available and am definitely not going into casualty. Nothing to do - just take some pain killers. My nursing neighbours get home today, so will pop in later this afternoon.
So, some quiet reading and also some jigsaws. Maybe a crossword or two. "Call the Midwife" has been watched. "Around the World in 80 Days" is next on the list.
Bubble and squeak again (I love it with a dash of Worcestshire sauce)!! That should just about finish the leftovers.
I hope the rest of the day is pleasant enough, in spite of the weather.

Going for some fresh air now as the rain has paused, then jigsaw time whilst I bake a ham. Back to work tomorrow.
