Great to see you @Liriodendron 😀😀😀.  Sorry to hear you’ve had a tough year.  Really hope you can join us again in 2022 - you’ve been really missed, and it would be lovely to have you back around.

Have had a lovely Christmas and betwixtmas.  Lots of time with the Chicklets, going on walks, watching films, and the occasional brunch thrown in for good measure.  Am taking littlest Chicklet back to London in the car today so that she doesn’t have to brave public transport, and Chicklet is off for a few days to celebrate NY with her friends, so this evening will be just me and Mr C - which is just fine.  I really hate NYE - the only time when the passing of time seems to be so “in your face”.  We will do our usual night of telly watching, with maybe a glass of something sparkly whilst we stand in the garden and watch other people’s firework displays.

Our family boxing day gathering got cancelled at the eleventh hour (we were about to get in the car) as BiL tested positive.  He has been isolating in one room, and so far the others (including my Dad) have not caught it, which is a blessing.  So it was yet another zooming boxing day.  Springmas is on the cards.

One of my Christmas presents was a trail cam, so we are going to set that up today.  We know we have badgers at the bottom of the garden, so it will be interesting to see what we can spy.  Plus I might finally get to work out what the critter is that nicks all my pears and uproots my onions.  I have a strong suspicion that it is squirrel nutkin - but confirmation would be good so that I can plan my fortifications accordingly.

Happy New Year to you all 🥂

Sorry @Pat E glad you are ok after your fall. Take it easy. Just found out that one of our neighbours had twelve for Christmas Eve meal, how stupid is that!!

I can see a happy goofy character with arms outspread and chin lifted up bouncing along the hilltops @Pat E!
Sorry your Boxing Day plans had to be cancelled @chicky but nice for you to have your chicklets around you for Christmas.  And a trail cam!  Can't wait for you to share the pics with us here!

Good morning all.  Again a super sunny mild day - linen on the line today - the heavy flannelette quilt cover and pillowslips.  Hopefully, I will get them three quarters dry at least.

Well, I can say one good thing for Covid - I arrived at the Xray yesterday at precisely 4pm.  Papers registered - taken for x-ray straightaway - photos straightaway - a 20 adventure.   Results on line this morning.  A 20 minute venture from whoa to go.  The results?  Fracture of 10th rib!  I am okay - taking the required medication and strapped into the elasticised belt.

Quiet day - maybe a stroll - not to far away.  A read of my book in a sunny spot.

Thank you to you all for your kind comments and suggestions.  I hope everyone has a happy New Year's Eve even if it is just on your own, or the two of you.

    Morning all.

It's a lovely day so have put the duvet cover on the line outside. The middle of the lawn is very boggy from the recent heavy rain.

I slept better than expected although did wake up a couple of times because of blocked nose.

Glad you had a good Christmas @chicky.

OH has tested negative every day since coming back from daughter's but he needs to go Specsavers as his vari-focals have lost a screw and the lens falls out. He only has one pair.

I am sure you probably know this already, @tui34, but the more time you can spend sitting or standing, the better it is for your lungs and a fractured rib will tend to impair your breathing.

Okay @punkdoc   Hint taken - no stroll for a few days.  Breathing is good for the time being and pain under control.  Thank you so much for your lovely advice.  Enjoy your evening.  There'll be a toast for you tonight with good wishes. (and to you all on the forum)!!!

A walk is ok @tui34, as long as it doesn't cause pain, it is the vertical position that is good for lung function.

Thank you for the good wishes, sending them right back to you.

Another rather grey day - feels like weeks since the sun was shining. There are a few smudges of watery blue sky today, but "not enough to make a Dutchman's trousers". So probably won't last.

Glad you got checked out Tui and are recovering. Hope @Yviestevie is also on the mend. Good to see you around Liri - hope 2022 brings you better times.

I'll be asleep by midnight, I expect, so hope you all have an enjoyable New Year's Eve, whatever you're doing (or not doing).
