  • The masks we have are the PP2 ones ... OH did some research when it all kicked off and decided they were the ones to have, so we keep a supply in and he wears those all day for workย  and I wear them when I go to the farm shop etc.ย  ย I've given some to Wonky too, for when she has to go into crowded areas shopping etc.ย

    Supply of these PP2 could be short - fairly shortly. ย So be in to win, I think. ย My NN tried to order some from Amazon for her Mum who lives up country, but delivery wasn't until mid to late February, so she said it is easier to buy from the SM and post up.

  • Very similar @lyn ... certainly ones made to the same standard.ย

    @Dovefromabove - one of the makers I had in my craft shop was a wood turner who made round tuits.ย  They were very popular.ย  And we would definitely have stocked your infinity scarves!ย  I do miss the shop but it was such a tie.
    Glad to see wee Uff is getting back to his normal cheeky chappie self @Uff.ย  And am seriously impressed with that sweater!ย  My goodness - I tried knitting a sweater once with some lovely oiled yarn bought from a weaver who had a wee shop next to a babbling brook that I found on a trip to Scotland years ago.ย  I got bored before I'd even finished the ribbing.
    Yes I can sit for hours with my beadwork, picking up and weaving tiny seed beads, like in this:

    But we don't want this turning into the crafters' thread!ย ย
    Had a better night's sleep last night - thanks @Obelixx! But slept longer than I wanted to. OH up before me to make the tea and that's unusual.ย  Oh well - still so grey and wet and dark outside there is not much incentive to be up and out at the moment.

    @tui34, re analgesia.

    You can take 1g. Paracetamol every 4 hours [ but max. 4g. a day ] and Ibuprofen 400mg. 3 times a day to help with the pain.

    You need good pain control in order to keep your breathing easy. It is better to take them regularly at least for the first 2 weeks.

    Super, thank you @punkdoc ย for that information. ย I have ย been given 500g paracetamol dosed tablets but the pain is under control (during the day) so am taking the paracetamol alternated with a 400g Ibuprofen (Spifen) every 4 hours. ย Tonight around 10pm I will take a paracetamol codeine 1g - which I did last night but I must have been in a bad position for too long and the ribs got inflamed by about 2am. ย So my OH said either he will call an ambulance or I will take a double dose. ย I took the double dose and within the hour, I was "comfortable".

    Again, thank you for your concern. ย I know that you are going through a tough time at the moment re various comments on this thread, so I wish you courage and strength. ย I hope the rain has subsided or at least that the ark is coming along!

    The codeine may make you constipated @tui34! Gosh all I seem to be talking about is toilet related things today. ๐Ÿคญ

    Afternoon all, after a wet and late start (we didn't wake up until 10 am!) it brightened up and we had sunshine by lunchtime. I decided I ought to start pruning the apple trees whilst it's mild so have done the first one but need OH to finish off as he's taller than me. I didn't do it back in the summer so they've got a bit out of hand.
    ย The first snowdrops are out - that was quick, they were only just showing when I last looked. The Russian Woronowii ones are always the first and tallest.
    My daughter is trying to knit again and bought her wool and needles up with her. Although I can knit, I haven't done so for years as the yarn makes my fingers sore. I couldn't remember how to increase the number of stitches when she needed to so we had to resort to Youtube. I much prefer sewing however.
    Hope the ribs improve soon @Tui34, my first OH broke four of his in the US, just slipping in the hotel bathtub, the edge of which was square, not round. He quickly got carted off to hospital with me in hot pursuit clutching the credit card. It rather ruined our holiday and it took a good six weeks to heal.
