Morning all, grey, cold and foggyish here. Been for my usual walk and OH managed to get a little way through the orchard to meet me. I've refilled the bird feeders as we now have a flock of goldfinches, the amount of seed they get through is remarkable. A lot of it gets dropped on the ground of course so the local squirrels are also happy. Just realized I haven't yet potted up my tulips so might do that later.
We also don't wash any of the shopping, haven't done that since the first few weeks of the pandemic when it was first recommended. I think they discounted that theory of contamination last year and decided it was unnecessary. But each to their own and if it makes people feel safer, that's fine.
Can we talk about Bake Off yet? Enjoyed the final anyway.
I make a point of wiping my trolley in the SM as many dash past without. I feel that people are creeping back to old ways. I feel uncomfortable when the person behind me starts loading their groceries without some distance. I try to load mine and wait at the end but still a little hand appears next to me as they start unloading their trolley. The cashiers don’t ‘intervene’ any more.
Right, I’ve had a lazy morning so should do some jobs now.
Have a good day all. Feel better all those under par.
@Nanny Beach - my heart goes out to you. Who cares for the carer? So often people see the main caregiver or the main person who gets things done and holds it all together as the strong one, needing that person to always take the lead - or the blame when things go wrong. But just sometimes acknowledgement, thanks and a hug wouldn't go amiss.
Sorry your trip has had to be cancelled @Lizzie27. The cases here have gone up a lot since half-term. Lots of posts on local Facebook pages from people self-isolating when their kids test positive. One woman I know decided to self-isolate when her boys got it and then their father (they are separated) also got it. She was not required to by law and could have gone out as she herself tested negative. But she did the responsible thing and self-isolated. She then got it (but mildly as double jabbed). Well done to her for not spreading it further. Other parents from the same primary school, which appears to be an epicentre of this outbreak, could not be so responsible because of work and other responsibilities, hence cases going up.
I wish the govt. would make mask wearing in shops compulsory again. With the big street market coming up I have asked stallholders to wear a mask and plan for me and other stewards to wear one but I know they, and I, will forget. I'm getting a bit worried about the crowds now as well. If only it was compulsory to be masked and everyone was I'd feel happier. But that said, most mask wearing is non-effective anyway - comes off the nose when talking, people wear them under their chins, always being touched and shoved back up.
Obsessed with Line of Duty. We’re on the last Series now, so won’t be much longer. Just made a start on Shetland. Thanks to some of the comments on here, we’ve included subtitles, so we can understand them. 😂
A strange thing folks, went out with my friend today, normal Wednesday thing. I never mentioned any discontent on my part. She isn't normally a bit sympathetic, hasn't got children.she asked me about Saturday, said yes girls came, etc etc AND she said "I think your girls put on you and expect too much", Whooh,am I surprised!!!
