Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Goodness me I think we’ve had a sleepathon! 🥱
I heard rain on the windows at around 5ish so rolled over and went back to sleep …. and we only woke a little while ago😲

Good morning. Another cold, murky grey day here but not as murky as yesterday. I have cooked the daily thyme infused rice for the chooks, have Vendée mogettes beans (botanically the same as cannelini but don't expect the locals to believe that) simmering for some Italian veg soup for lunch and some spelt bread on its second prove before baking.
Cleaning sort of day here and a bit of patch homework to do too. Not really a gardening day but tonight we're expecting rain and then some sunshine by midweek so then I can get out and finish planting my bulbs.
More mint and liquorice tisane first tho before I get cracking on dust busting.
Glad you've had some rain @Pat E. Hope ours delivers as promised.

Morning all. I still can't get boosted within 30 miles. Last night's curry was ok, but not spicy enough and I think I overcooked the squash. I blitzed what was left , so it's no a Spicky Thai Soup.
Good morning everyone, been up a while got distracted by a programme about a wildlife garden in Ireland, very interesting will record future episodes to watch T a more sensible time. 😀 Well our visit went very well we had a great catch up, but we never really got to the bottom of why they have not taken the vaccine as they are being sensible and following all other precautions, regular testing etc. It's my friends wife who has a deep mistrust of big Pharma, and I suspect that is at the root of it, she claims to have read a lot of "evidence " on both sides but we never got to establish what that is or what the sources were. We pointed them to a couple of very reliable sources, and there's nothing else we can do for now. I suspect when they find life almost impossible without they may come round , they are certainly not anti-vaxers per se.
I liked that Irish 'wild garden' programme very much, quite relaxing and love the accent. Reminded us of our Dublin born Irish friend who is now working far away in Quatar. We haven't seen him since 2018 unfortunately.
Having a lazy Sunday morning here as well Dove but the sun is shining so I ought to get out and do yet more leaf clearing. It's a never ending job in November. Annoyed to find our green bins will not now be collected until Dec 2nd, they're citing driver shortages. I've masses of debris to get rid off which is not suitable for either composting or burning and nowhere really to store it, despite having a large garden.
Right, coffee drank so I'm off. Just read that over-40s can book their boosters from Monday, better remind my son.
Nice and bright here at the moment. Just about to meet the family for a walk on the Common followed by Sunday lunch in the golf club. A friend is now doing the catering there and she can guarantee that the Yorkshire puds are gluten free!
Sunny here too now which is good for the chooks losing their feathers. Must be draughty with all they're shedding. Nest boxes and feeder scrubbed and out in the sun to dry off.
OH has been wrestling with my oven door after I cleverly took out 3 of the glass panels to clean and then couldn't get them back in right. OK now but the bread is baking in my Rangemaster in the annex.
@didyw In Belgium our local golf club was a favourite place for lunch out - good food, good service and good prices. Other clubs had good restaurants too so I would occasionally head off with OH and go and explore or do a market while he chased the stupid ball around and then meet up for lunch. Haven't tried any here as we like to go to the coast - added advantage that none of his golf mates are there. they only have one topic of conversation!

We aren't having Sunday lunch, going to a church tea party this afternoon. Having fish this evening.
